the lyrics can be obtuse, last two songs a bit weaker
Bob Dylan was a folk rock God during the 1960s. As far as his recordings went, he could do no wrong. Every album released during that album was outstanding. 'Self Portrait' from 1970 showed that he was human, too, but that was yet to be apparent in 1967. Dylan had gone electric in the mid-1960s, enraging purists who wanted him to remain strictly folk. In 1966, he suffered a devastating motorcycle accident. During his recovery, he became reclusive. He recorded wild, less structured songs with The Band, which were eventually released during the 1970s as 'The Basement Tapes'. What was released...
