This really kicks your butt! The workout really works everything and is very simple, however for someone out of shape, it can be a bit of a struggle (like me). I like that I don't have to have anything fancy or learn any routines, it's all simple but very effective movements which will work you to whatever level you are. This workout is geared for the beginner all the way to the fit. I don't know if you can lose 20 pounds in 30 days, but I know the exercise is very effective. Cardio and weights all in one, if you have hand weights and a DVD player, you are good to go!
It will kick your butt into gear, but it is well worth it. It has 3 levels so there is no excuse for not doing it! Just keep the hand weights light in the beginning and get shredding!
I love how she combines strength and cardio and doesn't't kill you yet still kicks your but...after the second day my legs were hurting sooooo bad..good bad..I LOVE IT..If you want a good workout in a short amount of time this is for you....
I really like this DVD it makes me work hard! but with easy movements. I sweat like crazy, I was out of shape and was hurtin for one week but now I see definition in my arms and legs. The only thing is she should do longer ab workout, but all in all I recommend. Good luck!
This DVD is Awesome. It's great for getting back into a workout routine or to add to a regular workout if you've hit a plateau. I like how it's only 20 mins long for each level. There are 3 levels in total. You can easily fit in 20 minutes each day and see some results if you have a fairly good diet. It is based on strength, cardio and abs. It's an overall good workout in a fairly short amount of time. There are some days I feel that I want more so I continue and do another level. You can definitely feel your muscles working and may feel sore the next day. Time goes by fast and you are done before you know it. She varies the workout so it's not boring and it's like circuit training. You don't have time to rest so you stress your body to see fast results. Would recommend it as a startup or in addition to a workout! Get it and get fit! =)
I workout 3-4 days a week, including boot camp twice a week and this DVD makes me sweat like no other! Great mix of cardio, strength, and abs. I think the ab portion could be a bit more challenging.
It's harder than I thought it would be and I'm pretty active I usually work out 1-3 times per week, but I just got over a knee injury and level one is good for me right now. You can make the workout as hard as you want by increasing the weight and going lower in your squats and jumping higher in your jumping jacks, etc. You can work it, if you bring it.
I love this dvd! but it is harder than i expected jillian works you hard for the 20 minutes, if you are looking for a real workout dvd i would reccomend it!
This is a killer home workout for someone who doesn't want to go to the gym. My only complaint is that it starts out really tough so if you're out of shape you'll probably need to do only 1/4 or 1/2 of the 20 minute level 1 workout or you'll be really sore for a week! Work up slowly. You'll see results in 2 weeks.
I love this DVD. I don't have much time to work out and this gives you strength, cardio, and abs in a 20 minutes. There are 3 difficulty levels to choose from. Within each level they also show you two versions of each move if you can't do the harder version right away. It's quick, easy, and I'm exhausted by the end. She definitely pushes you all the way through.
I really like Jillian. I think she is really motivating! Probably my only concern about this one is that it might actually be a bit advanced for beginners. Since I'm intermediate to advanced, it's a great way to get in shape fast. Her 3-2-1 method really helps tighten and tone the entire body.
I've owned this DVD for a couple weeks now and so far I am very satisfied. I have never been an exerciser but have about 6 months to get in shape for my beach wedding! I've been 50+ lbs overweight most of my adult life so figured a former "Biggest Loser" trainer would be good for me (though I don't watch the show). I tried out the first phase of the workout as a preview on the Exercise On Demand that comes with my digital cable program and found it challenging (I was huffing and sweating!) but manageable (I can actually DO all the moves - which is not always the case for me with most exercise programs). Since I ordered and received the DVD, I have followed the first phase about 4 times now (I'm doing it every other day until I feel I can handle 4-5x per week). I actually look forward to the time to do it, though I know it will be tough! I got some 2 lb handweights to use with it and they're perfect. Jillian is a great workout leader, she doesn't have an annoying voice or move weird and she explains how to each move and is sure to point out how not to do it to avoid injury. The two chicks behind her are helpful to watch as well, especially since one is doing a modified (aka easier) version of many of the exercises so begineers don't get too overwhelmed. I feel like I have (FINALLY!) found an exercise program that I can stick with and not dread to the point that I give it up after a couple of days! I also love her system of alternating fairly short bursts of strength training, cardio, and ab workouts so that you don't do one type so long you think you're going die. I find her timing perfect, just as I begin to think I'm not sure I could do much more, it's time to switch. I also appreciate that there are 3 workouts on the DVD with varying intensity, but each one is complete on its own. So I will continue to do level 1 until I find it "easy" (hard to imagine now!) and then will move on to 2, then 3. I look forward to it! I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone who is trying to get started on a regular workout/exercise program at home. I found the DVD for around $10 on Ebay and only had to get the handweights to accompany it, and can get out of breath and sweaty in the privacy of my home without the time and expense of going to a gym and hiring a trainer.
Perfect workout when you don't feel like doing two hours of work or when you want to switch things up and add something to your cardio. I love it and would highly recommend to anyone.
I had wanted something that could be quick and effective and this is definately it! Jillian puts you through your paces in 30 minutes which is wonderful for people with busy days and your will really feel it the next morning!
This is a down and dirty, basic exercise DVD. Good pace and instruction, Nice having 3 levels in one DVD. Not at level 3 yet, but had it for a week and have lost 6lbs. Just 20min a day 5 days a week. Buy it.....
I love the 30 day shred DVD!I just feel so good after doing it...and Ilove that it's a mixture of cardio,strength and abs!!WHOO HOO...I think I may be able to stick with level 2 for a while(I was alternating,with level 1,but I may be officially ready for level 2)....This work out work's!
This is a great workout, Jillian Michaels walks you through the workout. When you first start doing it you think that you can't do it, but keep doing it and you will see results. It is an old school workout. Jumping Jacks,jump rope,etc.
From day one, this DVD kicks your butt into shape. Level One really works you so hard that I was a little frightened to move up to Level Two! However, I got there and love every minute of getting Jillian right there, working me to my limit! I highly reccommend this DVD to those who are ready to work hard and turn it on at least 5 five a week!
Jillan Michael's works you out in her 20 minute work out and will have you pour in sweat and feeling like you are about to die. It soooooooooooooooooooo works, if you want to firm up, lose weight, and have very little time, this is the work out for you, but if you don't have time for a shower after this is the wrong workout because you will sweat no matter how in shape, you think you are.
I like that this is a no nonsense approach and she talks directly to you. I bought it because from watching biggest loser I see she is a great trainer. This has 3 levels and though I thought I was in great shape level one actually kicked my butt. I felt it immediately but she would not let me give up and pushed me to finish the workout. I cannot wait to get to level 2 and 3 because I am sure they will be just an intense while steeping everything up a notch. I have been using this for a week and I already see results.
I am a huge workout person and teach bootcamp classes. I did use some of her moves in my class, and used them from level 3. There are 3 different levels and each is a 20 minute workout. For some not used to exercising, I think this would be good.
I have to say that this program is worth the purchase. I love the fact that I can work up an intense sweat in just 20 minutes. Do not be fooled, the workout is hard. I have a new baby at home and bought the DVD because I am so limited with my time. Not only do I feel that I get a complete workout, but I feel like I really work out hard. I love it. Buy it. You will not be disappointed.
