I went and saw this show on Broadway. It was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. The music was phenomenal. It touched me more than a show normally does. I have been in theatre for the last 4 years and have done a lot of shows as well as seen a lot. I have preformed in one show but mostly I am the Sound Head, Set Designer, and Technical Director. No fan of Jekyll and Hyde should be without this CD. The composer of the show will keep you compelled with every breathtaking note. The songs are taken to new levels with the help of budding diva, Linda Eder, Carolee Carmello, the current star of the Scarlet Pimpernel on Broadway and Anthony Warlow. The CD features the popular song "This is the Moment" which has been played in the Olympics, Miss America competitions and at many other public events. I had to go out and buy this one myself after borrowing a friend's copy for way too long, and it's well worth it. If you like this musical, in any of it's many forms, this is the version to have. It has the songs that were cut when the show got to Broadway, like "Bring on the Men", and still has the female leads with the eerily similar names Lisa and Lucy, instead of Emma and Lucy (what were they thinking?). The music in this show is powerful and beautiful. "This is the Moment" still moves me to tears every time I hear it. And of course, Linda Eder is amazing, especially in "Someone Like You".
