This recording reveals Miles Davis in all his greatness. For many, this 1969 album is considered to be Davis' first journey into fusion jazz. Davis is accompanied by masters in their own right;John Mclaughlin on guitar, Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock on piano, Tony Williams on drums. While Davis' next album, Bitches Brew far outsold In A Silent Way, this recording, for me, remains as the starting point for all of Miles' masterpieces that follow it. The original recordings have been digitally remastered and sound as if they were recorded yesterday, not forty years earlier.
