Since I really like Pharrell's beats and his group The N.e.r.d.s I decided to try this cd out. I am so glad I did. I'm almost ashamed that I went so long without hearing it. If you like great beats you'll love this cd. For slow seduction try number 10. For get down grooving try number 2.

I love "In My Mind" Great Solo CD for Pharrell!!

This CD is GREAT!! I love most of the songs on the CD. I have always been into N.E.R.D and Neptunes production, and I stand by their music 1000%!! I knew this CD would be as good has N.E.R.D's 2 CD's. Pharrell did a good job as a solo artist, and I'm looking forward to many more CD's by him, and N.E.R.D. The beats are still great as always, with a unique sound. I can't really complain about the CD. Definately worth a buy!!

PHARREL NEEDS TO STICK TO MAKING BEATS
Review created: 02/25/07

PHARREL IS A HORRIBLE RAPPER/SINGER.
HE NEEDS TO STICK TO MAKING BEATS.
THIS IS MAYBE THE WORST ALBUM OF 20006.
TRY BETTER NEXT TIME !

I have recently really gotten into Pharrel's music. From his production work with other artists to his stuff in N.E.R.D. I remembered that he came out with a solo CD not too long ago so I decided to buy it. The CD isn't really for the N.E.R.D. fans who are into the whole funkrocksoul thing they had going which was great. This CD is more hip-hop oriented. Pharrell uses this CD to show off his talents of being able to make great beats while being able to rap. I'll admit that his raps arent amazing. I wouldnt put him on any best rappers list but you still enjoy it. I enjoyed it even thought Im not into every hip-hop artist thats out there but like Pharrell himself said, this CD is ment to be and will probably be more appreciated for fans of Pharrell.

First off, let me just say, I'm a huge N*E*R*D fan. I'm also a huge Neptunes fan.

After hearing the 2003 hit Frontin' I had been looking forward to Pharrell's solo release for some time. 3 years later we finally get to hear In My Mind. After almost a full year of delays, with some of that attributed to making sure the album was perfect, I have to say i was extremely dissapointed.

Maybe he's been too distracted with his fashion label, maybe he was under too much pressure from himself, the record label and the fans, or maybe it's simply the absence of his production partner, Chad Hugo, but this album does not deliver.

There are a few good songs on the album. I won't deny that, but his rapping ability is not showcased well enough on the 'rap' side of the album. the same goes for the r&b side. Listen to Pharrell on Twista's Lavish and Frontin' and compare it to any song on the album and you'll know what I mean.

The production is by no means bad, there are some great songs on there, but the lyrical content, style and flow just don't measure up. Appearances from Slim Thug, Snoop Dogg and KanYe West keep it respectable but it's not as good as it should have been.

If you're a N*E*R*D fan you'll find it worth a listen, but it isn't as good as their albums or many of the Neptunes' productions that have made Pharrell what he is today.

Stand out tracks for me are:
2. How Does It Feel
8. Angel
14. Number 1

That Eopinions.com review is garbage! This cd is great. If someone is not into this kind of music they are just not in to it but don't down it because you don't like it. Pharrell shows his azz on this cd he raps, sings, and produces. He's a triple threat and people are hating on him probably because he has more money then anyone at Eopinions.com will ever have. Go get the cd now.

Not His Best, But It's Still Good

I've been a fan of both the Neptunes and N.E.R.D for years, and I was very excited to hear that Pharrell was doing a solo album. Yes, this is a well rounded CD. It contains several different styles which makes it suitable for anyone who listens to R&B, Rap, or even Pop. But at the same time it also lacks that extra "umph" that Pharrell usually has.

This album is everything you would expect it to be.. EVERY track is produced by none other than Pharrell himself. With the likes of Slim Thug, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, and Nelly (just to name a few) also on the album makes this a well rounded project. There is a good mix of slow and fast songs.. This is one of those albums you have to hear all the way through when you first listen to it or else you will miss something.. It WILL end up in Heavy Rotation in your car.

"In My Mind": Skateboard P Wipes Out (Or...The Curse of the Rapping Producer)
Review created: 07/29/06
by: speeddemon531-- a member of Epinions and Advisor in Music

Pros:
Jay-Z, Kanye, a couple of hot beats.

Cons:
When one is not a capable rapper or singer, one should not rap or sing.

Who do you blame the phenomenon known as the rapping producer on? While both Dr. Dre and Puff Daddy can lay claim to starting this somewhat dubious trend, the first person to try to attempt that two-way success was Teddy Riley. As 1/3 of Guy, 1/4 of BLACKstreet and sometime MC, the rhyme skill-challenged producer set the template for the usually embarrassing (with exceptions for Dre and Kanye) moment that a respected producer decides he wants to step out from behind the boards and have a go behind the mic. This is one of many reasons we can blame T.R. for the disjointed mess that is Pharrell..

Warning: May not be "gully" enough for Clipse fans*

Pros:
Pharrell's beats, which're surprisingly dope given some of his recent output. Some (unintentionally?) hilarious lyrics.

Cons:
A coupla songs consisting of overly-minimalist bullsh*t.

*Disclaimer: I ain't dissin' Clipstans here. I'm jez sayin', their beats aren't The Neptunes' only good sh*t. Even if you're not big into rap, you may've heard of Pharrell. Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like It's Hot?" That N.E.R.D. single "Lapdance" I swear everyone seems to know? I'd mention that first Justin Timberlake album too, but I ain't tryin' to lose my whiteboy suburban hip-hop cred here. Really though? Not bad at all. But while Pharrell and his production partner Chad Hugo (known as The Neptunes) were pretty much on top of their game earlier this millennium, not just as far as hip hop but..

Half of the Dynamic Duo goes solo (which one is The Boy Wonder though?)

Pros:
Michael Jackson!! Well... not really. "P" just sings like him on half the album.

Cons:
The "rap" half just barely makes the grade (save "That Girl").

First Epinions review. I hope I do the site justice. I love The Neptunes. I don't think they'll ever go out of sty-... well... let's just say that they'll somewhere down the line go into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame (provided someone founds one). Pharrell has been banging out the hits for artists ranging from hip icon Snoop Dogg to pop's darling Britney Spears for the better part of 10 years. He and partner Chad Hugo have had the King Midas touch, that of which every artist and their momma runs to get snatchies on. Their clientele is so long that to list it will ensue one's appearance resembling..
