The cd arrived and was packages well. I have been looking for this old one for a while. Music is great and makes me feel happy going to work. Seller did fine job.
This is my all time fave c.d. by Jo Dee, as well as one of my fave c.d's period. This is the first thing my other half ever bought me. He will be singing track 9 off this album as I walk down the aisle at our wedding. That was the original purpose of replacing my lost c.d. was so that he could practice singing the song. Now, I remember how much I absolutely love listening to the different grooves on this album as I clean house or nap or mow the lawn, just about anything. The songs on this album vary from fast paced to slow mellow listening. It is absolutely great. There isn't a song on this that I don't love.
I've been listening to country for 30 + years and it's good to hear new talent. I listen to much of my music on the MP3 player, but I like to keep CD's for backup...
J D Messina is a true talent - and great singer - what a delightful album
Track listing 1. I'm Alright 2. Stand Beside Me 3. Even God Must Get The Blues 4. No Time For Tears 5. Lesson In Leavin' 6. Bye, Bye 7. Silver Thunderbird 8. I Know A Heartache 9. Because You Love Me 10. Cover Me
When Jo Dee Messina released her sophomore effort I didn't get to hear it right away although her releases made their way to my ears over the radio. Her vibrant voice returns again with another set of upbeat songs, stunning slow ones and a lot of personality. "I'm Alright' is a song you probably haven't been able to avoid. At first I wasn't as impressed with it but it grew on me and now I am very impressed with her vocal phrasing and style. The way she turns her words and focuses on different syllables give her a unique, enjoyable style. The lyrics aren't really complex but the rhyming scheme.

Pros: Kicky music as well as good Ballads
Cons: I didn't find this CD sooner
Well...this is my second attempt at a music review. I hope I do better at this one because I like this CD a whole lot better than the first one I did. Let me begin by saying I know this CD is 2 years old, but I feel it deserves to be recognized because it is one of the best CD's I have ever owned. I bought it for my husband for Father's Day because he liked one of the songs on it. After I received it in the mail and after he opened it, I thought I would play it and see how it was. Well, to my surprise, this has turned out to be a CD I cannot live without! From beginning to end every song on...

Awesome CD from an Awesome Singer

Pros: Great Songs, Down to Earth Girl Next Door!
Cons: none
Jo Dee Messina is someone who I feel like I could find living next door. She seems so down to earth and family oriented. I have seen and read several of her interviews and she seems so very unaware of her awesome voice and original style. She isn't "in your face" on every magazine cover and doesn't seem to be attempting to go "pop" on us. This is her second CD "I'm Alright". It is produced by Tim McGraw (awesome artist in his own right) and Byron Gallimore. The title track is "I'm Alright" and is written by singer/writer Phil Vassar. It is a spirited and happy song about the woman running...

Pros: A mixture of songs and lyrics, full of energy.
Cons: should of had more tracks on it.
Jo Dee Messina's I'm Alright is a must Album to have. I purchased this album after listening to a few songs she released on the radio and on T.v. In every song she released I found something special and I knew I had to have this album. It's full of 10 great songs That are sure to move you. The form in which she sings the songs are so full of emotion that your almost sure that she is singing about experiences she faced. It's makes the songs more special to the listener because they feel that Jo Dee can relate to the situation they are facing whether it be love, heartbreak, leaving, for the...

Lots of modern country fun!

Pros: Energy, spunk, a modern twist, radio-pleasers AND hidden gems
Cons: too short!!! :-)
Being fairly new to the country scene (I've only been listening religiously for a couple of years now), I find myself gravitating to the tried and true country stars of all time - Gath Brooks, Vince Gill, Reba McEntire, etc. So, it was with trepidation that I decided to give Jo Dee Messina a try. Am I glad I did or WHAT?!? JoDee Messina's album I'm Alright is the most fun I've had in a long time - I can listen to it all the way through without skipping a single song! There is a young, excited energy that makes you want to keep listening. For those who hate country, this is almost placating!...
