Pros:
Excellent action and wonderful cinematography.

Cons:
Some of the sci-fi term's were borrowed from other films.

After the trailers and TV interview with lead actor Will Smith, I, Robot was quickly placed on my, "too see" list. From the previews this filmed looked like an action junkies dream with enough sci-fi to keep the imagination dazzled. One could only hope the cinematography would be as rich and alluring as what's shown at the films website. This murderous sci-fi inspired by Isaac Asimov headlines the dashing Will Smith a detective in the year 2035 that s a bit skeptical about the modern advances made by science especially when it comes to robots. The action takes place in the city of Chicago...

Will Smith Gets Naked in I, Robot

Pros:
Effects. Interesting, entertaining plot.

Cons:
Not the most original plot.

Over the years, Will Smith has managed to be in several summer movies, all released in July, that have made huge amounts of money. Independence Day, Men in Black, and Men in Black II all had huge July openings. Even Wild Wild West and Bad Boys II were the big movies on their opening weekends. Some of those movies were better than others. I just saw Will Smith's big summer movie for 2004. I did enjoy I, Robot, but it had a few problems. In 2035, robots are everywhere. People have them in their homes to help with different things. Some robots even do jobs that people use to do. The three laws...

Is it Possible to Have Too Much Technological Advancement?
Review created: 03/12/05
by: Bryan_Carey-- a member of Epinions and Advisor in Movies

Pros:
Cinematography; Action; Will Smith

Cons:
Not a complete original; A little ridiculous at times

What will the future look like in America and in the world when it comes to technology? Will advances be minimal and productivity per person only marginally better than today? Will humans have more free time? Will much of our tasks be completed by various forms of artificial intelligence? The possibility of robots performing tasks is nothing unusual, and many think it will be the norm in the next few decades. This idea of robots as workers forms the basis of this movie,I, Robot, a film set in the year 2035 in the city of Chicago. Movie Facts: Rating: PG-13 Format: Color Director: Alex Proyas..

 I Robot, You Jane...

Pros:
Great action sequences, tightly-plotted, good performances, great SFX

Cons:
Some small plot flaws - but only if you want to be really picky!

I might have been disappointed had I watched this thinking I was going to watch something vaguely reminiscent of Isaac Asimov s stories, but fortunately I wasn t that naive. (Will Smith being the star was my first clue ) What we have here may only have been suggested by the great science fiction author, but it s one of the best sci-fi movies in the last couple of years. (You could quibble that it s not a true sci-fi movie, but I think it meets the criteria well enough.) The only real Asimov connection is that the robots in this movie follow the three laws of robotics basically : Law I / A...

I, Robot, do solemnly swear... Disassemble!? No disassemble Sonny!

Pros:
Great stuff, those robots.

Cons:
Bleh stuff, those humans.

Just another blind participant passing through. I never read the novel by Isaac Asimov, although I had heard of it for quite some time before this. From what I've heard, the movie is nothing like the book, but that's secondhand information for you. If you can trust it, well, I wouldn't be surprised. "I, Robot" (the movie) is a story set in Chicago, in which the entire world has become so dependent on machines that it has created machines in its own image to help out. The year is 2035, and there is a robot for every five humans on the planet. You don't have to worry about what this has done...
