The book is explained in layman terms, and begins at the beginning, In other words it gets you started from base one, and carries you through with very good explanation of procedures, with excellent detailed pictures for references. JoAnn Bortles is obviously a very good and experienced painter, as well as an artist and craftsperson! As it turned out, this being my first purchase from E-Bay, I was pleasantly surprised when the seller of the book awarded it and another similar type book to me free of charge, welcoming me to E-Bay. The seller was F. Gause, in Kingsport TN. from the Smoky Mtn, Book co.
Finally, a "no nonsense" guide to painting from an accomplished painter! There is something for everyone in this VERY easy to read, comprehensive, how to book. For someone like me who (has never done automotive painting, but) has done other styles of painting, this book was a tremendous help. JoAnn Bortles has made this area of expertise interesting, funny, and most importantly easy to understand AND relavent. By using events and stories from her own experience, she illustrates that there is no exact science to painting your own masterpiece, but rather a methodology to making something of your own, and making it spectacular! I look forward to reading her other books and would like to give my vote of thanks for letting us laymen into this VERY secretive world.
