House Of Love - Grant, Amy (CD 1994)I love the inspiration this singer offers the listener. Amy Grant is one of those special people who is able to sing with her heart and really reach the listener, affecting them positively on much more than the singing level. I decided to buy it because I have no Amy Grant music. I need her inspiration!

By now, if you have read some of my other reviews, it may come as no surprise that I am a huge Amy Grant fan. I've seen three concerts so far and wished I could have attended numerous more. (Did you know she likes to eat potato chips before she starts singing?) I remember desperately wanting this album when it first came out. I waited until I could finally get it, although, I could only get the cassette version since I didn't own a CD player until a couple of years ago. I popped the tape in and began to listen. It's an honor to be the first member to give a review on this album, HOUSE OF LOVE. Perhaps the best part is the album is just one of the best albums of all time. HOUSE OF LOVE contains songs are that very inspirational and uplifting. Similar to Amy's first album, HEART IN MOTION, HOUSE OF LOVE should have been nominated as the album of the year. I like Amy Grant's old stuff, so I bought House of Love. If you're looking for Christian music, this isn't for you. These songs were her attempt to make it into the secular market, which several of the songs did. Most of these songs are romantic love songs, such as, "Lucky One," "Say You'll be Mine," and "House of Love," (which she recorded with her now-husband, Vince Gill). Others are humanitarian, such as "Helping Hand" and "Children of the World," and one is even environmental ("Big Yellow Taxi"). But if you want a Christian song with depth, it's not here. The closest she comes is "Love...
