Hoodwinked (2006, DVD)

I found this a very cute movie. They took a classic faery tale and turned it into a who done it mystery. You have four different stories that all link together for the start and end of the movie. All star cast of voices. Very thought out plot line. Lots of extra features. And also it was very funny. It did to me have a slow start but once I got about 20 minutes into it, I couldn't pull myself away. I would recommend it to anyone :).

I finally broke down and bought this movie, because we were borrowing it from my parents so much. They are in their late 40's and they love it. We have two toddlers and they both love it. My husband doesn't care much for animated movies, but he is actually the one that asked me to buy it!!

This movie is loosely based on the fairy tale Red Riding Hood as you probably already know. The all star voice cast includes - Andy Dick, Anne Hathaway, David Ogden Stiers, Glenn Close, Jim Belushi, Patrick Warburton, & Xzibit. What I haven't seen in any reviews, is the fact that it is so far from the expected, you actually should watch it twice to let it all sink in. I must admit, the first time I watched it, I wasn't too hot on it. Then we watched it again and I started to spot all the little details and one liners. (HINT: Turning the subtitles on while watching brings deeper enjoyment as you can hardly understand the chipmunk. Plus you catch more of the jokes.)

The wolf by far is my favorite character. He is based on Chevy Chase's character Fletch. He is an investigative reporter that is trying to crack the case of the goody bandit and is forever being mis-understood and suspected. His squirrel sidekick, Twitchy, is a crack up. Together they help crack the case at the end. In the meantime, watch for many "Fletch" references, everything from an afro haired basketball player in a purple and yellow jersey (sound familiar?) to a guy in disguise that can't stop talking and won't give the same last name when asked. My favorite line from the wolf is, "As God as my witness, you will learn to speak." Watch for it in the movie when he is talking with Twitchy.

Some other great scenes are when the always prepared, singing mountain goat "does not feel prepared", when Granny's secret, double life is exposed, the slow motion snowboarding fight scene, and the famous Schnitzel Song sung by all the little German children and the schnitzel-on-a-stick truck driver, "Kirk the Woodsman", also an avid endorser of Paul's Bunion Foot Cream, it sends Bunion's running for the hills. Plus many others.

All in all, a must have for your collection. 5 out of 5 stars. I really hope they make over more fairy tales in this fashion. Great stuff.

I Love this movie, a cute new twist on a great old tale. My boys 2&4 have gone thru 3 copys of this DVD b/c they watch it non stop. LOVE IT. even good for adults once or twice :)

I like the movie very much and so does my son. I decided to buy it because the copy we had was scrached and we needed a new dvd.

My whole family loves this movie. It is funny enough for adults to enjoy it as much as the kids do. It is a very cleaver movie. We had rented it so many times that we decided to just buy it!

this movie is funny, but it also comes at you from different points of view, you get to listen to everybodys version of the story, & you'll really be suprised who did it this time.

Usually I love children's movies, especially those with a lot of humour; however I have to honestly say i realy really disliked this film. The graphics were not very well done at all. It was like watching a 1.5 hour long bad episode of Jimmy Neutron without a decent plot. My children would not even sit through it. And the little red riding hood seemed rude and uncaring. This movie, to me, was a bad spin off of a good fairy tale.

this movie is sooo funny, the animation is awsome and it could not have been better written, i believe it to be good for all ages my oldest teen down to my 4 year old loved it, you will laugh so hard, i dont have any complaints about this movie whats so ever.

I never recieved it. The seller must have had a limited number of items to sell. For several weeks I tried to get the seller to respond but to no avail. The DVD was a show called Hoodwinked (appropriately named).

I have collected cartoons for at least 25 years for my children and now my grandchildren and I would have to say on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give this a 3. It doesn't capture a younger childs attention or at least none that I've had. Every week-end we have a cartoon night where they can choose one cartoon to watch before bedtime. After viewing this cartoon (which none of the younger children liked but the older kids did) none have ask to view it again.

I am a fan of animated movies like Shrek. The satire and humor
in this move are excellent. The animation is wonderful.

I was still thinking of various gags in the movie days
later.

I Liked the price and it was sent to me very quickly. I bought it for my six grandchildren for when they come to visit. And they Love it.

Our whole family laughs at this! This has many great twists on an old favorite story. Good music too.

I rarely watch a movie twice...and I've watched this one over and over. It's still great fun...and wholesomely funny! Red, the main character, is witty, attitudinal, and so much fun to watch, and the rest of the characters and beautifully detailed visuals are a treat as well.

i bought the movie for my kids as a christmas gift. i have seen the movie before and i liked it alot. it is a very funny movie. i highly recommend the movie.

This movie was particularly unimpressive. The voice talent of many famous actors was wasted on this drivel. It just didn't really engage me or my children. I recommend that you rent it once before you go out and buy it, just in case it's not your brand of humor either; you won't be stuck with a copy you have to sell on ebay.

Hoodwinked is, in my opinion, one of the greatest animated movies ever made. It is hilarious with an ingenious storyline. It is truely an original and casting was done perfectly! It is perfect for the whole family, from the adults, down to the toddlers. You won't be disappointed!

I purchased this DVD for my niece. We had seen it in the movie theater and
we both loved it! This movie made us laugh until our cheeks hurt. I highly
recommend this movie for all.

This is a cute film-seen it in theatre with my niece and had to buy it on dvd for us to watch at home.
