Home Improvement 1-2-3 by The Home Depot (2003)

This book is great! I rented it from my local library, and after seeing how useful a book like this could be I decided to buy the book...actually I bought almost all of the home depot books just on the chance I wanted to spruce up the place.
What I like best about this book (and the others in the series too) is how the entire process of the project is broken down in small steps.

The book also has great visual aides showing how to preform the step at hand.

This book was everything I was looking for. It gives you examples on how to do about anything on remodeling a home. The only drawback would be that I wish it would go into a little more detail on some of the projects. But with the information included in this book I think about anyone could remodel a part of thier home.

I picked up this book when I first bought my first house. I find that this is a must own for any new home owner.

This book covers everything that you might have to repair in your new home. If you have no real experience (Like I did) with home repairs this book is great.

The Home Depot has split this book into 12 major sections: painting, wallpaper, plumbing, electrical, walls & ceilings, flooring, windows, cabinets countertops & shelving, insulation & weatherproofing, exterior, and heating and Ventilation.

The best part in each section is that it has *MANY* pictures to show you what to do, along with in depth written instructions. They tell you the tools and supplies that you need and help you get along step by step. The book also has repairs in each section split up by easy, medium, hard, and do not attempt as an amateur for each type of repair.

When I damage something or something goes wrong with my house I grab this book and see if I can fix it myself. I also now give this book to all my friends that purchase their first new home.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to understand. The areas covered were everyday situations one might incounter with their home.

I like that it covers so many subjects, lots of pictures. I would like more pictures and more in depth instructions, but maybe that is because I am a first time homeowner and new to all of this. Overall a great book to give you some info on almost everything.
