I tend to live and die by the Greatest Hits collection. As a child of 80's-early 90's Top 40 radio, i've come to realize that most of the artists I liked from my youth sound best when they're distilled into a quick overview of their biggest pop moments. Phil Collins has been a major force on the pop scene since the early eighties when he was carousing with Peter Gabriel and co. in Genesis. He has had morality songs, light-hearted fare, steamy love songs and sincere ballads. All this has been done in his own non-embellished way were he's simply making us see that their two sides to every story. It prompted me on many occasions to demand that they turn the awful music off , despite the fact I actually quite liked some of his songs. Why?
