I bought this for my brother-in-law for Christmas. His favorite song is Sweet Caroline
You can't this in stores anymore because it is kind of old.

Pros:
Plenty of sing-a-longs for the whole family to enjoy!

Cons:
A couple of duds that shouldn't have been included.

He s provided people the world over with some of the most perfect, karaoke-worthy songs known to humankind. Cherry, Cherry, America, and of course, the drunken classic, Sweet Caroline. And lucky for you, there s a CD out there that features all of these crowd-pleasers and more... ...but unfortunately, this isn t it. His 12 Greatest Hits is a collection of some of Neil Diamond s more famous tunes; twelve of them to be exact. And although it is not nearly as intense of an assemblage as other compilations, such as Sony s The Essential Neil Diamond, which features a stunning 38 songs (who in the..

Not a lot of songs on this album

  A Diamond in the rough...

Pros:
A Classic voice, catchy songs

Cons:
none

I consider myself a modern music fan. I listen to classic rock, alternative, industrial, electronic, some hip hop, and occasionally some pop. Neil Diamond is my dirty secret. I love this guy, and not there is anything to be ashamed of, but when most of my peers discover my passion for this legend, they look at me kind of strangely, saying, 'huh'? Neil Diamond's voice is ageless, that deep voice that penetrates your soul and makes you literally feel his music. I can't admit I know his library from song to song, or album to album, but I know the classics, and they stand out as pop music gems....

Neil Diamond - "His 12 Greatest Hits" Are they?
Review created: 12/02/99
by: Mr_D -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Some of the best songs from one of the greatest songwriters of our time.

Cons:
No Cherry Cherry? What's up with that?

Neil Diamond, an artist who has almost as many greatest hits releases as he has albums, actually had his first greatest hits album released in 1968 (His first hit was in 1966). By the time "His 12 Greatest Hits" were released in 1974, he had a bit more music under his belt, including hits like "Cracklin' Rosie", "Sweet Caroline", "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show", "Shilo", "Holly Holy", "Brooklyn Roads", and "I Am... I Said", all of which appear on this compilation. Noticably missing however, is that first big hit for Neil back in 1966, "Cherry Cherry". Also included on this...

  Genuine and entertaining!
Review created: 02/07/01

Pros:
All original sounds, his first collection, the best

Cons:
None!

This is the first collection of Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits. As always, he is an amazing entertainer and songwriter. The voice is magical, and musicians are always the finest. This series of hits is institutionalized in rock history! "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show", "Soolaimon" and "Holly Holy" sound inspirational, and with roaring fun. You can always sing along with Neil's songs, they are sure to lift your spirits. The very personal "Brooklyn Roads" is unforgettable for a tune that gives us a peek into his childhood with phrases like........."two floors above the butcher", and ....
