I bought the HP W2007 LCD monitor because it is the ideal size for my workspace, and I trust HP products. The monitor is sharp and bright, has no interference, and is stylish to boot. 2 pages can be displayed side-by-side on the single screen, a feature that is convenient for editing documents or spreadsheets.
I would recommend this monitor for anyone who needs a mid-sized widescreen.
I have wanted to get a decent LCD monitor for years. The HP w2007 was heavily favored in computer magazines so when the tax rebate arrived I went for it. It has rejuvenated my interest in surfing the net. I go to all the old places I used to haunt just to see the vivid difference in the display. It's incredibly bright and detailed. I love the wide screen! I no longer have to scroll horizontally because even though I'm 60 I can see all the detail. I also appreciate its self calibrating abilities. Perhaps I don't hit the keys as hard as some because vibration of the base is not a problem. I was thinking I would have to replace my old computer but replacing that old 17" flat screen with this 20" LCD was all it needed.
I am happy with the product but e-bays new policy where the seller can no longer leave bad feedback SUCKS!!!!! I have been a victim of this policy and I hate it. Who ever came up with this policy should be fired on the spot!
I purchased this monitor for a fairly decent price. Around the same time there were sales in most of the stores that were comparable or even better in price. The monitor arrived as per the delivery information that I received and was double boxed. When I opend the first box I came to find that the original HP box was pretty badly damaged but the monitor looked in tact. When I plugged the monitor in and turned it on, the picture looked great but I did notice a dead pixel right in the dead center of the screen. I contacted the seller about it and he did respond at first but then when I advised him that I would like to know if he had another one or could refund me some of the money back he ignored my message and I have not heard from him since. I have not made a big deal about it because it is only one dead pixel and you can only really see it against a very dark backgroud. All the same if I bought this in the store I would have been able to return it and get a replacement but this particular seller seems like he did not want to be bothered. His response was that it was in the original box, but I countered by advising him that he did double box it due to the package being damaged to begin with. I would explore having something done about this, but for something so small I have ignored it due to my busy schedule. I have done a lot of business on E-Bay and I have never had a problem except for this. Im hoping to have a better experience with my next purchase.
very nice product although, speakers should be in front of unit instead of the rear.Turn volume all the way up on unit and also computer and is still hard to hear.HP should make some changes on this item.
1st off let's talk about the "BrightView technology". BrightView improves the contrast and clarity of your screen display so colors are brighter and images come to life.In other word it's like they spayed the screen with a Clear coat. Gives it a shine to the surface of you screen looks more like a CTR(glass screen ).
I would give BrightView technology a rating of 9 out of 10 .
Now on to the rest of the design of the Hp w2007.
It has 2 Video input connectors: 1:Digital (DVI-D) and 1:Analog (15-pin D-sub VGA) ( that's a good deal in it's self ).
Refresh response time is 5 ms
Display resolution is 1680x1050 @ 60Hz
viewing angles are 160 degrees horizontal and up to 160 degrees vertical viewing angles.
Contrast ratio is 1000:1 ( not to shabby for a LCD monitor under 250 dollars).
Speakers and microphone are Integrated into the Rear Facing ( the speakers on this are terrible at best) 1 out of 10 (just because they do work) You'll need to buy extra speakers for this one .
Well to sum it all up : The Hewlett Packard w2007 20.1-inch LCD Monitor. (Silver) is not a bad buy at all . My rating overall is 8-10 .
Best thing is: The BrightView technology( the shinny glass like screen ).
Worst thing is : The speakers ( you can barely hear them ).
Also there is a w1907 ranging from 30 to 50 dollars less . In my opinion 1.1 inches is not worth 40 bucks !
This LCD Monitor is very good. Great color tones and crisp text. I am using it as a second monitor under Windows XP Media Center as my media screen. Video is great, stills are fantastic, It is as good as it gets without a hugh investment. I have no dislikes, it would be nice if it rotated for text page display, but I never use it for that purpose. You may have two document pages side by side if desired. I decided to buy it because of the price versus quality ratio. I am very happy with it.
This is the best LCD monitor that I have used so far. The design adds glamor and style to any office or living room. The resolution of this monitor is very amazing, displaying up to 1.6 million pixels. It is very light weight and the viewing angles can be controlled around the base at 180 degrees. There is too much glare on this monitor in a highly lighted room. The sound is really awful. Other than these two less important cons, I am really delighted with this monitor and HP monitors in general.
