Portable and easy to use. Carrying cases are available at retail stores such as Office Depot. Shop your prices carefully. Target ran a special sale just after I bought this unit. Lithium battery for this unit is very pricey.

Great Printer with a LOUSY Print Driver

Pros: Small size, Bluetooth capability, high print quality, easy pairing to cell phones / PDAs.
Cons: Lousy -- REALLY LOUSY -- Windows driver. No kidding here: it's REALLY LOUSY! Seriously!
Overview: My previous HP printer was a Photosmart 385, which was an awesome printer but died an unnatural death (somehow a dime got caught inside the printing mechanism and chewed up the works). So I purchased an a616 to replace it. Setup: There are two kinds of setup for this printer: USB (to a computer) and Bluetooth (to a PDA or cell phone). The Bluetooth setup was amazingly easy. After I purchased a $30 Bluetooth transmitter for the printer, all I had to do is invoke Discovery mode from my two cell phones and pair them to the printer. I was printing camera snapshots in under two minutes...

Great little photo printer

Pros: Compact, great pictures, can print straight from the card
Cons: Apple software a little clunky
I wanted a small photo printer to use to make smaller pictures to stick in letters to the family and use in my scrapping crafts. The HP Photosmart A616 turned out to be perfect. It is very small, so it hardly takes any space on the desk. When you open the front panel (so the paper can come out), the top picture viewer screen pops up also. This is a nice convenience factor. When you are done, you can just push down the picture viewer and close the front. The pictures come out great from the computer or directly off the card. The only time I had a color balance issue was when I was running low..

HP Photosmart A616 Review

Pros: Easy setup. Good sharpness and color. Easy to operate
Cons: None noticed
I purchased this photo printer on sale from Staples last week and so far I have been very impressed with the color and clarity of the photos. The Photosmart A616 is a snap to use right out of the box. The menu is very intuitive and takes little effort to use effectively. Setup is quick and painless. I take most of my photos using a Nikon D50 camera which also produce color-rich and sharp photos. So when you pair these two digital devices together you get prints that are nothing short of amazing. Vibrant saturation and great detail. The Photosmart A616 works equally well for 4X6 or 5X7 color...

Rich and Vibrant

Pros: ease of use, vibrancy and detail of the pictures.
Cons: It will not print from my phone without additonal equipment sold separately.
I just got this printer and I love it. I enjoy taking pictures and have a Nikon D60. this printer is very easy to use and offers very nice additions. The borders are fun if not a touch corny, but the options are easy. I particularly like the ease of use of the "touch up" options. My friend also used it with her digital camera and the pictures were phenomenal as well. She just returned from Sea World and the underwater blues and greens were leaping from the photograph.
