Head (1998, DVD)

I enjoy the monkees music and purchased the dvd for my own personal collection, but i did not recieve my dvd at all. I had purchased other items about the monkees and I have enjoyed all of them. I hope I will get reimbursed for my lose and apparently I was not the only one who got dupped. I enjoy ebay as a whole and look foward to futre purchases. Thank you for your time. pjdhist

This film is a great parody of the stuggles of a rock band that is just too famous. Are they in charge, or just being manipulated by the music and film business? The four lads have the craziest adventures ever known. Suppressed by the Mormon church because of the jokes about drugs and Coca-Cola, it has finally made it out of the underground to be a music video classic. You don't have to like to the Monkees to enjoy this video. Everyone and every thing are spoofed a la Matt Groenig, from the Viet Nam war through social attitudes about rock'n'roll, the music business, cops, cross dressers and the fake world we live in. There are plenty of obvious referrences to LSD, some of the trippiest video effects in history and great music videos. There are also cameo appearances by Dean Martin, Jack Nicholson, Frank Zappa, the Italian army and the jolly green giant. Well worth the price. I saw it in the theater and am so happy to finally have a good copy. You can play it as background or a feature presentation. Very funny and still quite deep. "Are you telling me you don't see the connection between government and laughing at people?"

I remember this being much weirder when I watched it as a kid. Still has a lot of oddness. Stream of consciousness and pop tunes carry this along. The Monkees are the most fun when they just go with it, at their weakest when they try to 'act'. Nice film to watch when you're in an odd frame of mind.

This movie is very weird. It is the original story about nothing. It really hurt the Monkees' career. They were never the same after that. But this movie is a must for any Monkees fan. It's fun, wacky and weird

I'm a fan of the monkees and I was surprise seeing them act different in this movie. This is the first I seen them act wired on weed, It's so confusing that I had to watch it three times to understand it. I guess it doesn't matter how many times you play this movie it's really confusing. I bought the movie because I heard that this movie was the best. Like I said I'm a real fan of the monkees and this wasn't there best movie. Too much weed, girls, talk. They say things that doesn't make any sense.
