I've never owned a planner, or PDA that I'd ever used, so when I got the treo 600 for free when I won an auction for something else, I decided that I'd give it a try.
The Treo I got would drop calls with 2 bars of signal, and just wouldn't connect sometimes, I found out quickly looking at forums though that it was probably the battery, and not the phone. I replaced the battery for $8 and Viola! it gets better signal than my Motorola Razr does, and better than my old Sony Ericson 525i did.
The Treo is powered by palm OS version 5.X and is pretty expandable using the built is SD card slot. I've loaded applications to allow me to customize my camera settings, play MP3's and even use the treo as a remote control for my TV.
The PDA aspects of the phone allow me to keep track of all my appointments, little notes, important memo's and keeps me in touch with everyone else. Having the phone and PDA built into one means that I always have it with me, and now I don't have the excuse "I forgot"
The Treo is also a GSM Quad band phone, and when unlocked (Mine already was)it becomes an effective World phone, especially with the ease of changing the Sim Cards out.
I'm going to Guatemala later this year and plan to use the Treo as my phone down there.
I purchased a used Treo 600 for $3.00, paid $12.00 for shipping, still an awesome deal. When the Treo arrived it worked perfectly except that the screen had some burnt pixels. I immediately started looking for a replacement screen and found one for $39, when it arrived I replaced the old screen and voila! I had a perfectly good Treo 600. I love the item, it works beautifully, I've added software to it and personalized it to my own liking. The only downside is the camera, the resolution is quite archaic by today's standards.
I will probably hold onto this one until I can find a very good deal on a 700, which is what I would like to get next and the only reason really is for the camera, otherwise this Treo would be just fine.
This was probably the best ebay buy I've ever made, normally I find that most items sell at almost their normal selling price which of course, is not a bargain.
First off the size of the phone is to bulky. It doesn't take very good photos and the screen is easy to mess up when you drop it I don't want to rant to much. This phone may be great for someone else who may like some of the other features on the phone. I now have a razor. I will be listing my treo on ebay soon!
