James Taylor's voice is so recognizable, so easy and so perfect. His 1987 Greatest Hits album is a classic - one of the highest selling albums of all time. And for great reason - its 12 perfect songs, all working wonderfully alongside one another. From Something in the Way She Moves to Steamroller - James Taylor's Greatest hits is perfect for a lazy sunday, an afternoon at the beach, or a cross country car ride... just as JT would like it
1. Something In The Way She Moves 2. Carolina In My Mind 3. Fire And Rain 4. Sweet Baby James 5. Country Road 6. You've Got A Friend 7. Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight 8. Walking Man 9. How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) 10. Mexico 11. Shower The People 12. Steamroller - (live)

Came in a fair amount of time. Quick response with winning bid. Like James Taylor Greatest Hits CD. He has great music. Shipping a little too much. Be sure to check on the condition of the Cd you are purchasing.
I just saw James Taylor in concert a couple months ago in Billings, Montana. Excellant!!!! I immediately bought several of his top hits CD's off Ebay so I could enjoy his music everyday of the year. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the albums. I actually had this ablum on cassette which the sound quality deteriorated with lots of playing time and banging around inside the car. I bought this CD to upgrade and to restore the great sound I'm used too.
Every song on this album is perfect. Every song seems like it can transport you back to a different time. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THIS CD IN THEIR COLLECTION!
Baby boomer so I loved the music, had the cassette, wore it out. James Taylor's stuff still all over the oldies stations and most of this stuff is timeless. Smooth easy style, easy listening. My CD however come with a skip and I will know better than to buy used a gain.
I like James Taylor , so I like cd. All songs very songs are good, but Mexico, Shower The People, my all-time favorite Fire And Rain. His voice is so clear, so smooth.
How can you not love James Taylor!! this cd brings such great memories of high school- probably the only great memories from high school. His songs are timeless, as well as such a graeat variety slow, cute, romantic, blues, bluegrass. Love this cd!
I absolutely love this CD. I knew of James Taylor's voice from listening to it when I was with my mom when I was younger. I have since grown and only now can I truely appreciate this music. It is so relaxing and listening to this CD makes me feel good no matter what kind of mood I'm in. I would definitely recommend this CD to anyone because you can't possible listen to the whole CD and not find at least one song that you wouldn't mind hearing again!!
I absolutley LOVED this CD!!! There are a few that are my favorites, of course, but it is overall an excellent CD. This was a great find, James Taylor is a wonderful artist, his voice is so soothing to calm any mood!!! I'll always be "Gone to Carolina in my mind"!!!!
Loved his music of the 70's and have always loved his unique voice. This CD takes me back to a very happy and wonderful period of my teen years. When I hear him sing these special songs, it makes me smile.

Pros: Only covers his early work
Cons: You might have to admit to owning it to other people
My children have all gone through stages of screaming for no apparent reason while in the car. Believing that music soothes the savage beast I tried the radio. Commercials seemed to counteract the calming effects of the music. Once we had a vehicle with a CD player I hunted through my CD collection and came up with Greatest Hits by James Taylor JT - He's like Prozac for the Preschool Set James Taylor's jazz infused folk melodies go a long way toward relaxing my monsters in the backseat, most of the time. And on the rare occasion it doesn't work, he chills me out enough so I don't care. His...

Pros: Memories, Memories, Memories
Cons: Slow And Boring At Times
This CD is a great collection of some classic songs from a great songwriter. So why did I give this CD only 4 stars? Essentially when it comes down to it, I just get bored by JT's style at times. He has a very slow and steady 70's type feel, that I just find very boring at times. However, the vast majority of the time, this is the kind of music that makes me want to sing along to it. I remember riding in the car with my Mom on the way to the daycare and back home every day and she always had it on the oldies radio station that would play this type of music. So a lot of this music brings back..

James Taylor's Greatest Hits: A Must Have!

Pros: Poetic lyrics, great acoustical sound, harmonious voice
Cons: Only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to JT hits!
THE ALBUM Released in 1976, James Taylor's platinum Greatest Hits album, which comprises songs from his early musical career, was and still is a must-have album for any music collection. It's honest soothing, almost folk sounding songs are already classics! THE MUSIC The tracks: 1.Something in the Way She Moves: This song was originally featured on the album "James Taylor" 1968 by Apple Records. A re-recording of this song appears on this Greatest Hits album. A great romantic ballad! One of my favorites! 2.Carolina in my Mind: This song was originally featured on the album "James Taylor" 1968.

Pros: Very relaxing American folk. A must have!
Cons: None.
I discovered James Taylor from my faithful friends over at the Simpsons, who guest starred James in the episode "Deep Space Homer". In the episode, he played You've Got A Friend to a space shuttle, broadcasting live from NASA HQ. I liked his style, so I, as I do with all 70's music that sounds promising, asked my dad about him. Taylor got the thumbs up, although on the other hand, this is the guy who called Pink Floyd "depressing crap" so I wasn't sure what to think. That day, I discovered an old caseless, coverless cassette labelled "James Taylor's Greatest Hits" floating around in my room...

"How sweet it is"

Pros: Brilliant, Includes most of his really great songs
Cons: Only 12 songs!
So I may only be twenty-two, and this album was released a full year prior to my birth but I assure you that this should not discredit my opinion. This is a sampling of the stuff I grew up on and I actually have the record. . .you know. . .the antiquated, large, black, opaque, circular form with grooves. I also have the CD which currently resides as number 17 in my player's disc file, snugly in between Joe Cocker and Van Morrison,. . . nice company to have I think. Sometimes I do prefer to listen to the record. . .the whisper of the needle and the familiar skips where the scratches are;...
