The boss was great but I like his early songs better. It's a very good selling compilation, but I think his greatest hits were early w/ Born to Run & Darkness on the edge of town. This compilation have everything that came after those awesome albums.
A lot of the best song that made him the singer, song write that he is today. If your a fan of the boss's you will like this album. The only problem i have with it is it doesnt go back to his roots, I would have liked to seen it go back to Asbury park an the other early work he did, but they didnt ask me befor they put this album out
I bought the CD to exercise to. I run marathons and put 40 to 60 miles a week on my legs. I love to run to the tunes. The CD was in all I expected. The seller was great. Shipping, etc, was all performed as it was explained. Ron
I like the cd, he goes back to my era of rock and roll, The lyrics aren't foul and you can understand the music. I'm not afraid to let the grandkids even listen to it.

Pros: Great lyrics, interesting musical arrangements, captures the spirit of the average American
Cons: A few songs are kind of tedious.<BR/>
Bruce Springsteen has been an unparalleled force on the American rock scene for as long as I can remember. Although there are other American icon singers that I like better (Melloncamp), I have a healthy respect for the talent and songwriting ability of this American treasure. Combining the storytelling spirit of someone like Dylan with a more aggressive rock sound, Springsteen is a writer that manages to make music that depicts our culture nicely. No song better illustrates the above-mentioned point than the patriotic Born in the U.S.A. . From the opening synthesizer hook emphasized with a...

Bruce Springsteen: Greatest Hits
Review created: 03/30/03

Pros: Greatest hits from one of the greatest rockers
Cons: The Boss' greatest hits could include newly released songs
One more could one ask for? A "Greatest Hits" album from one of the greatest rock and rollers of all time. Bruce Springsteen has been pumping out some of the finest rock and roll for decades so it should come as no surprise that his "Greatest Hits" is simply an amazing album. "Greatest Hits" is put out by Columbia Records and was produced by Bruce Springsteen, Jon Landau, Chuck Plotkin, and Steve Van Zandt. The album starts out with two of everyone's favorite Bruce Springsteen hits "Born to Run" and "Thunder Road". One would expect such a high caliber greatest hits album to start off with two.

Pros: Great American rock from a fantastic artist
Cons: I never cared much for that "Streets of Philadelphia" song; where's "I'm on Fire?"
I can't remember what year it was for sure, but Bing Crosby was once asked what he thought about rock and roll artists. I believe it was a 1978 BBC interview that was the last thing Bing did before he died. Like I said, though, I'm not sure. Well, the year isn't that important, but what Bing had to say was. He said he thought a lot of those rockers had amazing talent. He pointed out that they wrote their own songs, sang and played instruments. Bing said he was impressed by several of the musicians, and that's no small thing. Many may have expected Bing to say something different, but that...

Not ALL his greatest

Pros: Most people will be familiar with the song list.
Cons: Some songs missing.
Before the release of Born In The USA in 1985, the artist often referred to as The Boss was not as well known in Australia as he was in North America. While his earlier works received a little air play, no one seemed to know, or care, who the voice behind the songs was. All that seemed to change after the release of Born In The USA . Suddenly, more and more people were listening to, and discovering the earlier works of Bruce Springsteen as well as enjoying his current efforts. As the name suggests, Bruce Springsteen - Greatest Hits is a compilation of some of the more well known...
