Quality product with great sound. I Bought this item for much less than I would have in a store. Including shipping. I feel I got a great deal on a great nproduct.
BUY THIS CD! If you are anything of a Billy Joel fan you must buy this CD. I loved the arrngement on the CD. It has a great variety of songs that span his entire career. He sang a song called Honesty a very long time ago. The fact this song is not on the disc is the only dissapointment I have with it. Otherwise it a great disc set to own. You can't go wrong with the melodics of Billys' work on the piano. He is amongst the greatest story tellers of our time. Ballads like his are few and far between anymore. And the variety in his lyrics leave you with something to feel good about anytime you hear his music. He is not a one topic musician. He throws his little spins on just about every life topic you can think of. If you ever get a chance to see him perform live, I highly recommend it. I saw him play at Tampa Stadium with Elton John. It is a beautiful thing to see 60,000 people singing and dancing to 2 of the best piano players of our time. Billy knows how to work a crowd. His on stage persona reflects in his music. This 2 disc set brings me back to that experience EVERY TIME I pop it in the CD player. I hope you enjoy as well as I have over the years. Michael.
25 of Billy's finest works. This collection cronacals the lifelong career of (in my opinion) the greatest Piano player and song writer of our time. It comes complete with a 27 page mini booklet with all the lyrics in a print size I can read with my old foggie bifocals. littlepine0
Excelent. Good condition and arrived on time Would byuy from seeler anagin with out any problem. If you need to find some CD out of print this is the seller to buy from.
This is pretty much the definitive Billy Joel collection, from the early years before he, like Elton John, wandered off into the land of overly saccharine ballads. From "The Stranger" to "New York State Of Mind" to "Captain Jack," there's not a bad song in the bunch.
This two disk volume has one CD full of songs I love and the other has two songs I like and that's about it. It could be that I'm just not old enough to be familiar with the older songs, but I love Billy's soulful story songs like Piano Man, Allentown, and Longest Time. It's My Life always makes me think of that old Tom Hanks show where he dresses like a woman for a cheap apartment. It was a simpler time then...before reality television. Basically I bought this set because I wanted to remember the times I first heard the songs and feel the feeling they conger up. Billy sings with emotion and shares himself the way only true artists do. They are in short supply these days.
I have always loved Billy Joel's music and this was a great purchase. The person whom I bought it from was also very prompt and i was happy that I got the cd so fast.

Billy Joel's GREATEST HITS VOLUME I & VOLUME II

Pros: Lyrics for all songs on GH; 2 CDs
Cons: Thick CD jewel case; tracks differ between audio cassette and CD; some loss from remastering
By the time An Innocent Man was released in 1983 Billy Joel was at his peak, king of the hill, and at the top of the heap. The 1980s were a good time for Billy Joel. The Cold War kid from Long Island released enough great songs to justify the release of Greatest Hits Volume I

The Piano Man Will Never Die!

Pros: Has all the big hits
Cons: Has a few songs I don't like
The Piano Man Will Never Die! Note: This was revised on Aug. 25, 2000--I had to leave in a hurry on the 24th--my computer time had expired. sorry about the spelling errors--I've corrected them. Billy Joel is one of those artists who has had an uncanny ability to connect with his audience in his lyrics. I first heard of Joel in March 1974 with the story song, "Piano Man." I remember buying the 45 just a week after my 13th birthday and playing it endlessly. It was a song I had wanted very much to make the top 10, but unfortunately, it only stalled at #25 because Joel was a newcomer. I can...

Pros: Great lyrics, Appeals to all ages, Good to listen to anytime
Cons: Wish he put the rest of his songs on it too
I'm a Billy Joel nut, so of course I am a huge advocate of his greatest hits volume I and II. But even for people who aren't particularly familiar with Billy's brilliant work, this album is fantastic. From beginning to end, cover to cover, it is nonstop fun and just great music. You will find yourself singing along to songs that you didn't even think you knew the words to. There are, of course, songs like Piano Man and Only the Good Die Young which everyone in the world knows and loves. But there are also the somewhat less heralded songs which you will learn to appreciate if you don't already.
