A man rents some rooms to strangers that seem stranger than normal. He realizes that they are tourists from the future. They have come into the past to witness some diasters that will be taking place in his home town. Daniel's character decides to change history since his daughter seems to be involved in the coming diaster. He has some things that he would like to change in the past of his own life. How will it change to the future? It is surprising that this movie was never released to the theathers. They are many worse movies that have been released. Thrill Seekers is a another movie that has tourists from the future witnessing the past.

  What the future may hold

I was looking at time-travel movies to add to my NetFlix queue. You add one and you get a bunch of recommendations. Before long, I had about twenty or thirty new movies. Grand Tour was one of those movies. The movie is about a bunch of tourists from the future who are visiting what was then modern-day Earth to witness disasters. Jeff Daniels plays Ben Wilson. He s a widower with a daughter to look after. Together, they re renovating a large house and making it into a bed-and-breakfast. The tour group thinks that it s just perfect. They check in, even though the building is far from completion.

Pros:
A smart sci-fi film with characters you actually care about

Cons:
There aren't many other sci-fi movies like this

So when was the last time you saw a sci-fi movie where you didn't have to put your brain in neutral? Contact? Gattaca? Maybe Dark City? Intelligent science fiction films are a rarity as the SF genre has been mostly employed as a backdrop for overglorified action films (Independence Day, Total Recall, etc.) or horror movies (any of the numerous Alien ripoffs). Considering that science fiction literature is filled with thought-provoking stories that could conceivably be adapted for the big screen, you have to wonder why major studios are planning remakes of movies
