just one of those got to have if your ant sort of rock fan a true classic had this one a few times over the years good price so it was time for a new copy
Elton and Bernie Taupin at their artistic peak. If you have a chance purchase the LP for the art and liner notes. You won't be disapointed!!! I felt Elton lost his edge after this album and began to succumb to the pressures of "writing the next hit". You decide!!!
If you lived in the era in which this album was released - you'll like/love it. Many popular songs will bring back those nastalgic feelings of youthful days and perhaps a less complicated life. Sure to put a smile on your face.
This is definetly one of the most high quality products I have bought for being "used". I am so overwhelmed by its condition for the price. I havent listened to Eltons music since the 70's, I loved it then. I couldnt think of a place to find his albums in 2006, are there any at all around? was my main question. I was told about e-bay, I saw the casettes, records, and cds. I didnt even know you could find any of Eltons stuff on cds. I only remembered 8-tracks. Then when I received my first cassette of Elton Johns I was soooooooooooooooo happy. Beautiful sound quality in a "used" cassette. Then I had to try a CD, because I have a Cd player in my vehicle. When I ordered Eltons CD, used, with an unbelievably low price,I was sceptical at first but I wasnt risking a lot of cash. Then when I received it and opened it and looked at how great of a condition it was in, I couldnt wait to put it in my CD player in my truck. I am very happy with my products I have received, and will continue to shop on e-bay.If you get a chance to read this I hope you will use e-bay too for all your "wants"too.
This is vintage Elton John, great listening ! I grew up with this music, but never took the time to pick up this album. I decided to buy becuase I received an Ebay Gift Certificate and I am having some fun picking up some the oldie but goodies.
Elton John exhibits his true diversity with this album. There are few artist that can capture such passion. As a victum of a flood and losing all of my music, this was one that I had to get back.

Elton and Taupin's brilliant tribute to fifties Hollywood - Classic Rock

Pros: Brilliant song writing, rock solid music - a classic
Cons: throwaway songs, some silliness
Big Feathers, Giant Glasses and Way Too Tall Shoes Many of you only know Sir Elton as the nightmare artist from The Lion King, where he did some horrific team up effort with Tim Rice. Elton has gotten himself into some trouble with the Mafia, and I think he owes a lot of money to some nasty Scott gangsters that is why he has chosen the dark side, doing his Disney work, selling his soul to Satan himself. This is not the real Elton John. The real Elton actually gets airplay on Classic Rock stations and did that lovely song from Almost Famous that they all sang on the bus. Such is the legacy of..

Pros: Wonderful pop
Cons: A bit uneven, but who cares
The critical and public acceptance of 1973 s Don t Shoot Me I m Only the Piano Player positioned Elton John to make a breakthrough as a pop rock artist. The question was: would his next album sustain his success, or would it be the inevitable letdown? That question was answered in early fall, 1973, with the release of the enormous, risky, and monumental two-disc album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road . It was an immediate commercial success, although less so critically, and made Elton John the dominant pop act of the era. It presented catchy, superbly produced and performed songs across a variety of.

Elton John's Greatest Hit?
Review created: 12/28/99
by: lansky2000 -- a member of Epinions
Pros: Elton John's Piece de Resistance...
Cons: Whatever Happened to Bernie Taupin?
This monumental work symbolizes Elton John's dominance in the industry at a revolutionary time in cultural history. Progressive rock was both attracting a new audience of classical listeners while repelling teens who wanted to be able to dance and party with their soon-to-be-obsolete EP's. Alice Cooper, David Bowie and Lou Reed were astounding the world with radical stage presentations that would have been censored years before. The dawn of the Punk Revolution and Disco Fever just ahead, Elton John slammed down a double EP that found its place among the greatest rock albums of all time. It...

Pros: Diverse styles, many songs
Cons: Two clunkers in the bunch
I had done my research. I found the scores, searched the net, and calculated the costs. I was ready money clenched in my fist as I scanned the wal-mart shelves. Joel....Ja-rule....John. I found my target. Furiously I flipped through the CDs hoping that I would find the Goodbye album. No luck. the sinking reality hit me. I would have to wait more. Prepare again. Keep training, because it was out there and I refused to buy it for more than 18$. So the search began again. Finally I found this album at a Best buy months later and brought it home; pushed play. And I haven't stopped yet. The...
