Good Will Hunting - Collector's Edition (1998, DVD)

I bought this film to do a film analysis in my college class. I fell in love with the beauty of redemption in this movie. Everyone can connect with what is addressed and I highly recommend it.

I saw this movie many years ago when it first came out and it truly made an impact on me. From the streets and a world of poverty comes Matt Damon's character who's intelligence far surpasses his years. As he learns more and more about himself from his sessions with his therapist (Robin Williams) his character develops into a lost and sympathetic character...the opposite of our initial impression of him as a punk. Robin Williams shows his propensity to shine as a dramatic character and the true talent of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck shines through in this movie. ****

I bought Good Will Hunting because it's a good movie and when I got it, it was in average condition. The dvd had some scratches on it. I thought that it would be in flawless condition and I was disappointed that it was not. Although there was no skips or freezing during the movie.

I received all of my movies within a week of ordering them, however this one still has not arrived over a month later!

I needed to make a gift to a familiar in USA. It was wreat except that I ask a little paper with "happy birthday" and they didn't include it. But anyway it was great.

another great movie it showed up in a matter of days. in great condition loved watching it with my two daughters.

A thought-provoking film but too depressing for me. Well-acted and put together. If you don't mind depressing topics this is a good film.

I love the movie. I think it's very inspiring. Matt and Robin are superb in there performances. I would have rather seen an alternate leading lady but that wasn't a big deal. I always watch it when it's on t.v. and decided that it was worthy of adding to my movie library.

A story about an unusually intelligent young man whose past family life is having strong, negative effects on his present. His gift becomes known to a professor at MIT, who hires him on as an assistant. His violent and untrusting nature, however, strains this partnership, and the professor has him see a series of psychiatrists. The young man is smarter than all of them, and plays them for fools. The professor calls on an old college buddy (Robin Williams) to help out. To the surprise of both, they both benefit from these sessions.

I bought this movie for my boyfriend, it's one of his favorites. As for me, i love this movie. Robin Williams is an outstanding actor no matter what movie he does but he really nailed this one. The story, the casting, everything just flowed so well. I recommend this movie to EVERYONE!

The dvd was here within 4 days it was great! I bought it for my fiance and he loved it. It was one of his favorite movies so I gave it to him for Christmas

I bought this as a present. My son-in-law loves the movie.He wanted this movie so I bought it for Christmas. I have no time to go shopping and I hate to go in busy store. So ebay is the way to go.

This DVD was purchased as part of a requirement for my counseling class. The movie is great; however, despite the DVD being purchased new, through no fault of the seller, it is a bit defective (ie. freezes periodically throughout the movie). I won the bid at a reasonable price, so I did not feel I should complain.

The dvd came promptly after I purchased it. The quality is good too. The seller kept in contact duroing the whole process and offered any assistance if I needed it.

"Good Will Hunting" is one of the best films of this genre. Redemption films tend to be over-sentimental, over-moralistic, or simply over the top. Thanks to great performances from Robin Williams and Matt Damon, this avoids most of the obvious traps. Gus van Sant directs the film with occasional subtlety and many deft touches. The viewer is never really in doubt about the outcome; it is the multiple redemption that gives the story extra and surprising punch.

Will Hunting, an emotionally challenged mathematical genius from South Boston spends his time drinking, fighting and generally challenging authority wherever he finds it. Perverse vanity cannot prevent him from completing equations displayed as challenges by a professor at MIT. Brought together with a psychiatrist (Robin Williams), he moves from confrontation to passive resistance to acceptance of his own emotions and needs. The interplay between the two provides the emotional backbone to the story, while the interplay of his mathematical facility and his encounters with the professor with the grinding dullness of the jobs he works provides the intellectual to-and-fro. For love interest he uses his mind to attract a girl at Harvard (Minnie Driver) and uses his emotional inadequacy to maintain a distance.

Self discovery at the hands of the psychiatrist is predictable but cleverly presented. His conflicts with authority are deftly drawn; the plot works right through to the final interplays between Will and the conflicting elements of his life.

This movie lives up to the big names that appear in it. It is great to watch Matt Damon and Ben Affleck before they became superstars and Robin Williams is the glue that pieces the whole movie together. It is a must see movie and you will not be dissapointed if you buy.

One word...Classic! This movie is bound to find its way to the top of your movie lists!

This movie has the power to change the way you view your own life. With an excellent cast and oscar winning performances Good Will Hunting is a movie you cannot afford to have out of you collection. If you claim to love movies this is a must have!

I absolutely love this movie. Minner Driver is absolutely fine in this.
The draw back? Some people just don't know when enough is enough.
We know people cuss, but give it a rest with the "F" word. Sometimes a
well placed "F" adds to the intensity or emotion of a film, but cripes,
after awhile, it's just an "F___ing" distraction and becomes a total annoyance.
This one manages to do that. I still love the movie however and will watch
it over and over.

This movie has a great plot and uncovers much about the human condition. The language can be a little foul at times but there is a method to the madness when it comes to all the profanity. People enjoy seeing into worlds outside there own confines and this is one of the rare movies that can explore genius without being over anylitical. It is well worth your time.
