  How old is Coverdale?
Review created: 07/14/08

I am a Whitesnake fan from way back and I have to say this is as an accomplished cd that could be made. David Coverdale has to be in his mid sixties easy and still belts like he did in the eighties. He has a good supporting group that can make the guitars squeal and drums thunder. My fav song on the album is a long six plus minute ballad called "Summer Rain" because it just hits me in the right place everytime I hear it. Is that not what music is supposed to do? The album from start to finish rocks out and is worthy of the Whitesnake name. Mr. Coverdale, you have done it again, too bad you'll never hear any of it on mainstream radio or on MTV because of the wanna be hip exec's that think this music is not relevant anymore. Bravo Mr. Coverdale, bravo.

  Thumbs Up !

Great recording, great songs, great sound, avarage mixing. Infact the only problem with the mixing thing is the vocal levels are too low. Other than that, this one is a classic album from the snake. If you are a hard rock fan, don't hesitate. This recording has the big drum and classic Gibson LesPaul sound with the uniqe voice of Coverdale. What more could you ask for?

  Whitesnake-Good to be bad

Great comeback for David Coverdale & company. Brings back the sound of John Sykes era line-up."Good To Be Bad" is great from start to finish, and should re-establish Whitesnake back towards the top of what would now be considered "Classic Rock" status. The vocals are great and the twin guitar work has never been better in Whitesnake career. Welcome back guy's. Hate you were gone so long

  Best Whitesnake cd yet!
Review created: 06/04/08

I always liked Whitesnake, the pre glam Whitesnake and the mid 80's version. This one is a mix of both eras. The musicians David Coverdale uses in this version of Whitesnake are all at the virtuoso level. Coverdales voice has aged gracefully and sounds better than ever. There are 2 ballets and the 1st song is actually the weakest on the cd, but that's the only weakness, if you consider the power ballets weakness.Last song in my opinion my be one of the best Whitesnake songs ever. Has not left my cd player for 2 months. 4 1/2 stars out of 5.

  Good to Be Bad Indeed

If you are here reading reviews and thinking of buying it, just buy it. This is a really solid album that will appeal to Whitesnake fans of all eras. Coverdale is in fine voice and Doug Aldrich is an awesome guitar player - a nice cross between the early blues Whitesnake sound, John Sykes, Adrian Vandenberg and Steve Vai but he definitely stands out on his own. He is the true star of this album. Standout tracks are: Best Years, Call On Me, Lay Down Your Love, Can You Hear The Wind Blow. The only downside for me is some of the lyrics seem to be a bit kitschy and monotonous, but I don't really listen to Whitesnake for lyric prowess. It's loud and proud and the musicianship is top notch.

  The 'Snake is back!
Review created: 05/21/08

Beg, borrow or steal, but get it! Hear for yourselves! The man has done it again. No wonder he 'stole' Aldrich from DIO. That guy is an ass-kicker when it comes to playing the guitar. Shredder, yes, but much more to it there is! And plenty!

Just get it.

This album I loved. It brought back the 70's and 80's type Whitesnake with a newer but more raw sound. I recommend this to any Whitesnake fan.
