"What do you think is more exciting? Having sex or stealing cars?"

Pros:
Actors, soundtrack, story.

Cons:
Some of the chase scenes are far fetched

Gone in 60 Seconds has turned into one of my favorite movies. I didn't even think I would like this movie, much less watch it over and over. It originally was my husband's movie, but I am the one that spends the time watching it now. The movie starts with Kip Raines (Giovanni Ribisi) attempting to steal a Porsche from a car dealership. This is one of 50 cars that he needs to fill an order for bad guy Raymond "The Carpenter" Calitri (Christopher Eccleston). After a run in with the cops and losing all of the cars he had already boosted, Kip finds himself in deep doo-doo. Enter big brother...

Gone in 60 Seconds ---- With Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie

Pros:
the last car chase

Cons:
the acting, the lack of real plot, devoid of real emotion, lack of chemistry

In the world of remakes, there is no easier way to do it than to take a B-Action movie, throw a lot of money at it, and hope that it makes box office gold. Back in 1974, the original film came out to limited audiences, and it was forced to live in B-Movie lore, remembered mostly for its 40 minute car chase. With the success of films like Speed, where the plot was very simple, and didn't move to far from the central theme, it was soon time for a studio to give Gone In 60 Seconds a try in the new pumped-up action genre. Coupling non-stop action, with a wide cast, and with Jerry Bruckheimer as...

50 cars, 4 days, and a whole lot of action!!!

Pros:
Big names, high action, and great chase scenes!!!

Cons:
Some predictability in the story line.

Looking for a high speed, action packed, intense, yet funny movie for an evening of viewing? Gone is Sixty Seconds is the movie to rent! Big name stars pulled this "sit on the edge of your seat" movie to life! Here's a few of who you will see in this film: *NICHOLAS CAGE is Randall "Memphis" Raines is a retired car thief who gave up the car stealing racket to live a quiet peaceful life. *GIOVANNI RIBISI is Randall s younger brother Kip Raines who for the last six years has become an expert car thief, just like his brother except he enjoys the thrill too much! *CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON is the...

Nicholas Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds

Pros:
mindless summer fun, nice car chase climax, decent performances from a varied cast

Cons:
Dominic Sena's directorial style--the hyper editing

Gone in 60 Seconds: Jerry Bruckheimer Films/ Touchstone Pictures Rating: USA: PG-13 As more than a few of my writer friends are fond of saying, clich s are clich for a reason because they re often the best, or most accurate way to portray something so that everyone can understand it. I guess there s a certain universal understanding to saying something s as quiet as a mouse that just doesn t come through the same way as saying something s as quiet as a ninja , or even as snow falling on grass . And while we d all like to think that we re blazingly original, most of us resort to using clich on.

  I admit it...

Pros:
Fast paced, great car chases, good idea.

Cons:
Some cliches, stilted dialogue, a couple of really bad characters.

I had heard that this movie was terrible. I had heard it was thin on plot and long on cliches. Even with all that, when a friend of mine said he wanted to rent it I said "OK". What I was really thinking, however, was "You need to join epinions". I'm not going to give away more plot than I have to, so read on knowing I won't spoil the movie for you. The basic idea: The story's star, Nicholas Cage, plays Memphis Raines. Memphis is a retired car thief who has moved completely away from his old life. When he gets word that his younger brother has blown a robbery and will be killed for the mistake.
