Pros:
Great compilation of pioneering Southern Rock band!
Cons:
Most of the music is recorded live, but oh well.
Gold and Platinum was created by Gary Rossington and Allen Collins, the two surviving members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, following the band's plane crash in 1977. The 2-Album (CD) set released in 1980 - contains, basically what are still considered the best of their work. Lynyrd Skynyrd is an odd combination of folk rock, blues, southern rock, and country, a sound I like to refer to as "Redneck Rock". It's a down home, hard driving, attitude filled rock and roll voyage.
