Great CD
Great music from the early 70s. The songs brought back a lot of great memories. I loved the movie when it first came out.

Learning about the Bible in the coolest way!Review created: 08/12/06

This was a musical that I wanted to see many years ago but didn't have the chance. I finally got to see it this year and it was fantastic! I knew that I had to have the soundtrack to add to my collections of Broadway musicals. The CD is really great to listen to. The music is upbeat and uplifting and it truly puts the gospel in a new and unique light. Super way to learn a little about the Bible! It is surpassed only by Jesus Christ Superstar!

The first time I heard the musical score for Godspell was in the early 1970's when our college drama department presented an inspired production of the popular musical. I was transfixed by the beautiful lyrics and melodies that told the story of the last few years of the life of Jesus Christ. (I)Godspell(/I) is a musical based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew. Now, I am not Christian, so do not rate because of religious differences. Some people would think that because I am not Christian, I don't deserve to watch the show, yet I saw this musical and immensely enjoyed it. The songs are not made to create a story that you can listen to, but they tie in well with the musical itself.
