Now I'm tempted to give Gigli (that bomb done by Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez / JLo) a 5/5 because, on the unintentional comedy scale - its off the charts. This movie received the worst reviews I've ever read in the papers... and for that reason alone, its worth seeing. I'd feel as though I were doing a disservice to American culture and society by not seeing what is unanimously titled: "Gigli - The WORST MOVIE EVER". Its a distinction huh?! I guess its better to be the worst at something than the middle of the pack? Read these little teasers of some top critics and say one thing to yourself - "How can I not see Gigli?!"
"Once you get past the staggering question of who gave this thing the green light, Gigli actually turns into a uniquely bad movie that yields real (albeit unintentional) laughter." -- Chris Vognar, DALLAS MORNING NEWS
"Guys, I'm telling you: Don't go to this movie! It's Chasing Amy with guns! You're walking into a trap!" -- Desson Thomson, WASHINGTON POST
"Hopelessly misconceived exercise in celebrity self-worship." -- A.O. Scott, NEW YORK TIMES
And best yet: "One of the worst movies I've ever seen." -- Richard Roeper, EBERT & ROEPER

Gigli - It's Turkey Time Gobble Gobble

Pros: Jennifer Lopez isn't half bad...
Cons: The part of the movie with Al Pacino was irritating.
Preamble Ben and Jen. Every entertainment magazine and tabloid rag screams their names. Ben and Jen. Are we sick of seeing them? Are we sick of reading about them? Maybe we are. And then again, maybe not. Me? I'm undecided at the moment. When I heard how badly the critics panned Gigli, I was all prepared to take one for YOU. I loaded up on the buttered popcorn and diet coke and headed into a practically empty theater. I was prepared for the worst. And then, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. While I wouldn't say that it's the best movie of the year, it sure does surpass the...

Pros: Brian, eye candy
Cons: See my list.
If I hear enough times that a movie is really bad I just have to see. Call it sick obsession but I just have a deep curiosity for movies that are considered by most people to be bad. So when I heard Gigli was bad of course I just had to see it. Two Positives Create a Negative Ok here you have a movie with two very talented and not to mention attractive actors. I happen to think Ben Afflek is a fantastic actor and have enjoyed him in several different films and I just really like looking at him. I also have enjoyed Jennifer Lopez in several movies although I was a bit disappointed by Maid in...

Gigli : A momentary lapse of judgment by Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

Pros: Justin Bartha, the comedic moments that were MEANT to be funny
Cons: everything else
Gigli. No, not giggly. Gigli. It rhymes with really. Had enough already? Well I am just getting started with my review of what was voted to be the worst movie of 2003. However, if you are expecting to be reading a review that denounces everything about this film, then you may be in for a surprise. Touted as the biggest flop in movie history, I found Gigli to have some bright spots, and in the end found that it was not as bad as all of the critics were making it out to be. This is one of those movies that was panned for the cast that included Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, but failed to...

Gigli: Thoughts From A J.Lo Fan - Is It As Bad As They Say?
Review created: 08/10/03

Pros: some spots are funny. some spots have excellent writing.
Cons: plot is weak, frail, debilitated even.
Sometimes I get sad that MTV cancelled that inane show fanatic - because God (along with a lot of my family and friends) know that I am Jennifer Lopez' biggest fan. With that preface aside, the reason I hadn't reviewed this movie earlier was that I really wasn't sure that I could be unbiased, being that I am a Jennifer Lopez fan (or stalker, depending on your point of view). When the movie was released I thought that I would tempt fate and see just what the critics had to say. Suffice to say, 98% of what I read was bad - but did that stop yours truly? Nope. Not for one second did I...

Gigli (2003)

Pros: um. um. um...
Cons: i watched it.
I've braved the cinematic roughland that is Gigli and I've lived to tell my tale. I come bearing news you might not want to hear though: it's not that bad, not in a way that nearly every single review has lambasted it, not bad enough that it leaves the taste of death in your mouth. This is not that film. Sadly, it's nothing more than a sub-par, banal, mostly unfunny mess of a film that just so happens to co-star the single most overexposed couple in the entire world. I wish that Gigli was a so-bad-it's-good type of film. You know, the kind you pop on to laugh at for its sheer idiocy and...
