At times they are over marketed and when they aren't proven to be "the next big thing", they are tagged as a failure and slowly are driven right out of the picture. The release date is one of the most important decisions an artist or record label can make about a project. For all of the promo, radio play and appearances one can make, nothing beats prime release real estate, especially when you re a newer artist afraid of being swallowed whole. If you are constantly moved about or delayed, even the most hardcore fans can lose track of you. If you come out at a crowded mid-fall release and aren t a truly viable artist yet, you have the potential to get lost in the hype shuffle and not have that much impact.
