I like the 90's era of Aerosmith better than anything that came before it, and better than anything that came after it as well. I think Aerosmith released their best songs during the early 90's, and this album contains many of them! "Eat The Rich", "Crazy", "Cryin'", and "Livin' on the Edge" are a few examples of the big ones off this cassette.

Practically every song is something any Aerosmith fan can enjoy, which is the beauty of this album in particular. Many make you want to get up and dance. Lots of feel good beats and lyrics, brought together by rock 'n roll masters like Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. There is a lot of variety in this album as well, and each song is something different. The album as a whole is different than previous releases too.

I recommend this album to anyone who enjoys a good dose of rock.

Pros:
Cryin , Amazing, Livin On The Edge, variety of songs

Cons:
Boogie Man, Line Up, Shut Up And Dance

Boy, does this CD bring back memories! I was first introduced to Aerosmith s - Get a Grip when I was in high school. I was a member of the color guard and dance team throughout my years in high school. In my freshman year, our choreographer decided that he needed to come up with something for our homecoming pep rally dance that would really be odd and memorable. Knowing his penchant for weird and flamboyant dances, we were literally scared about what he had in store for us. When he walked into the gym with the Get A Grip CD, we were not relieved! And neither was my mother when we headed to...

Pros:
some really good rock and cool lyrics

Cons:
some filler

When I was in seventh grade, I learned that, lo and behold, there are other radio stations out there besides the ones my parents listen to. I also learned that MTV isn t as bad as I was taught it was (at least it wasn t when they played music). So before my quest for a favorite station ended at 107.3, I found out about Aerosmith. They had recently put out an album called Get a Grip, and the videos were getting lots of airtime thanks to the lovely Alicia Silverstone. The singles were stuck in my head, so sometime in the summer of 94 I headed to the record store to buy the album. My hefty CD...

Beavis and Butthead GAG on Get A Grip

Livin, Amazing, the music to Fever, Shut Up and Dance

For my money, Aerosmith was one of the three or four best bands on earth in the 1970s. From their chunky, blues influenced guitar riffs, to the yowling vocals of Steven Tyler, to their perfectly put together ballads like Seasons of Wither, the band had it all. As drugs took hold, and original members took some time off, it became obvious that Aerosmith was no longer at the top of their game. Things began looking up though with 1987's Permanent Vacation, which spawned 3 massive hits, and with 1989's Pump, the band had created their best album since the mid 70s heyday. Many people would like...

Aerosmith keeps it interesting and manages to Get A Grip

Pros:
High energy, emotionally charged, phenomenal musicianship

Cons:
Not quite as classic as some other Aerosmith songs.

Back in 1993 another album was released by the phenomenal band Aerosmith titled Get A Grip. This album features some wonderful rock ballads, some chord driven grooves and a little bit of everything in between. Aerosmith can be accused of a lot of things but boring is definitely one I will never agree with. Gathering a number of hits with this set of material, Aerosmith continued their tradition of serving up great music and songs to make memories to. The album opens with the sarcastic, driving opener called Eat The Rich . Starting off with a little rap he then makes fun of the rich with humor.

It's worth full price, if only for that ultra-cool cover shot.

Pros:
Some great underrated rock tunes; musically, the guys sound great.

Cons:
Some admittedly weak pop numbers.

To this critic, Aerosmith s Get A Grip remains one of the most unfairly maligned albums in recent memory. People butcher it! They call it pop, they call it sell-out, they call it soft. The only backup anybody has for any of these allegations is the success of a few singles that admittedly show the band s softer side. On the flip side, though, the CD features such finely-crafted rock songs as Livin On The Edge and the title track. The album s opener is actually a 24-second intro, aptly titled Intro, a funky little pseudo-rock track that samples their 1975 hit Walk This Way. This leads into one.
