Games, Dames & Guitar Thang - Hazel, Eddie (Funk) (CD)

While Eddie Hazel may not be all that well known to 'main stream' music fans, he's well known to fans of great guitarists and followers of 'Funkadelic' music.
This CD is from his only complete LP and it showcases not only his guitar prowess, but his innovative song writing and interpretation of other's music. Particularly the Beatles and the Mama's & Papa's. Close friend of George Clinton and the association and musical influence are apparent..although Eddie had Hendrix influence as well...This CD is a great buy considering the original LP sells anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 and there is not a bad track on it. Seldom find anything that you want to hear all the way through..but this is one of the rare one's that is listenable over and over. You'll be glad you bought this one...

For you funk fans out there, this cd is like finding a Picasso hidden behind an old worthless drawing. Eddie's cover of the Beatles "I Want You" is off the hook. Like other P-Funk treasures when you first listen to the set you leave a bit uncertain, but when you listen to the music the second and third time you find yourself catching the band's groove and then all of a sudden you can't stop humming the melody. This CD has may P-Funk regulars backing Eddie up and real funk fans won't be disappointed. Bootsy's base lines are classic.
