The bigger they are, the harder to deal with

I wanted to buy all my Christmas presents online this year. I shopped, well in advance to ensure everything purchased arrived in a timely fashion. For some reason, one item didn't get to me before Christmas. This item was purchased and paid for using PayPal on December 12, 2007. I paid for expedited shipping to no avail. I sent three email messages to the seller with no reply. When I did get a reply one week later, it was a canned “We sent it". So I waited, and waited, and waited before sending a follow-up email. I received the same reply. Now it is after the first week of the New Year. I asked for a tracking number, and they obliged with this golden number. The number showed the package was in fact shipped as they said. The last time anyone saw the package was two hours from my home. I asked if this could have a trace put on it to find out where it was? One week ago I received an email indicating the address they used was undeliverable. This was an address I stopped using twenty-five months prior. I was just as surprised as they were. They let me know if I got them a confirmed address and paid for expedited shipping again they would resend the package. Knowing this was partly my fault for not completely deleting this old address from the PayPal system I sent the additional payment with my confirmed home address on January 28, 2008. I contacted them again three days ago, yesterday, and again last night and they confirmed they have no idea what I am talking about. I can’t get a response yet today, but when I do, I will let them know that one aneurysm, two months and $37.52 later is enough energy, time, and money spent, and I am writing off the whole experience to “The bigger they are, the harder to deal with."
