This book is the first book by Mr. Robards, who is as interesting and colorful a personality as anyone who's ever written about foxhunting. From his humble beginnings in Tunbridge Wells to his glorious rise as MFH of the Limerick Hunt and Rolling Rock in Mellon Country (Ligonier, Pennslyvania), he writes with wit and knowledge and a love of the subject matter. This book is hard to come by, so it was a surprise to get it so reasonably. I jumped at the chance! His second book, "A Field Members Guide to Foxhunting, How to Watch and Listen", has just been released. The premise is clever - a fox hunt from the perspective of various members of the hunt, including the fox and hounds. It serves as an informative and entertaining guide to the art of foxhunting. An essential addition to any true sportsman or woman's library.
