This is by far Paula's best CD(if you don't include her greatest hits cd). I put this disc in & couldn't stop "dancing" in my chair!
Her song selection is FANTASTIC, and each song makes you want to get up and dance. I can't even pick a favorite from this cd... they are all equally THE BEST!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Especially for you late 80's, early 90's fans!!!
The cd was a little worn, but you get what you pay for. We used this cd while I was dancing 15 yrs ago, now my teenager who is also a dancer, enjoy the upbeat music.
Straight Up,the hit single is the main reason I purchased this CD. I had the tape but never got around to the CD,that being said, Knocked Out and Opposites Attract are pretty good too.If you a Paula Abdul
paula is a good singer, nice looking and she has several up beat songs that are nice........................................................................................................................................................................

Straight Up--This Is "Where It All Began" (W/O)

Pros: Great to dance to, poppy, 80's goodness.
Cons: Poppy 80's goodness.
*This review is an entry in lambchops Where it all Began Write Off.* One of my brothers, who is seven years older than me, had quite the enviable collection of cassettes when we were younger. Among them was Paula Abdul s Forever Your Girl. I would listen to the tape in our big, ugly, but cool van that not only had a TV and VCR in it, but also TWO(!) Tape players, so we kids could listen to whatever we liked with individual headphone plugs near each seat. After hearing Paula while on the road I decided I needed to hear her more often. I would borrow the tape from my brother and lay on the...

Pros: Paula Abdul's dance moves.
Cons: You can't see it by listening to the album. Watch her videos instead.
(Disclaimer: Those looking for a brief description of the album will find what their looking for in the "Album Overview" section. The section titled "Detailed Track Discussion" is meant only for those who want to read detailed descriptions of the songs, and they do not constitute the essence of this review. Lastly and most importantly, this review is not necessarily written by the point of view of a Paula Abdul fan.) Introduction: It's funny that I forgot that Paula Abdul has a mole on her left cheek. You don't seem to see it much anymore. It's probably pretty hard to put on make-up...

Paula Abdul's Debut Album: So I Guess You Don't Need Talent To Judge Talent!

Pros: Cool Eighties dance in the vein of Janet Jackson or Jody Watley...
Cons: ...only pretty much devoid of talent and singing ability.
Some kids out there who only know Paula Abdul as the trainwreck of a judge on TV's "American Idol" might have forgotten (or may not have even known) that she had a recording career in the late Eighties and early Nineties. Not only did she have a recording career, she was HUGE, with her only competition at the time being Janet Jackson and maybe Madonna. In the time since, it has become obvious that she was the weakest of the three talents, not only because Madonna and Janet still have viable music careers while Paula doesn't, but also because their music from the same time period has aged...

Were you knocked out by Paula Abdul?

Pros: Dance music for all ages, great period effort, nostalgic
Cons: Dated, Paula's thin voice
Yesterday, I was doing my occasional raid at a place called Secondspin.Com in Denver, Colorado looking for some cheap buys and a little nostalgia. All though I didn't find some of the items I had hoped for, I did find for a bargain basement price of $2.99 Paula Abdul's late eighties debut Forever Your Girl. This morning I popped this piece of history in my CD player and somehow I magically transformed from a twenty four year old married woman to a thirteen year old little girl. Honestly, I was taken by surprise about how much I still like this CD. (it was a tape when I last owned it.) Paula...

Paula Abdul Will Always Be Forever My Girl

Pros: Straight Up and Cold Hearted are still the jams
Cons: You can tell that her vocals had tons of help if you listen closely
Back in 1988, Paula was the "it" girl. I remember a friend saying that he wanted to marry Janet Jackson, but Paula would be his mistress. And this is from a guy who had Janet's Pleasure Principle video recorded for playback many times. Paula didn't seem to be destined for music stardom based on her talent. She seemed better suited for television based on her experience as a choreographer. Word is that the Jacksons saw her at a Los Angeles Lakers game since she was a cheerleader and the choreographer of the dance team and wanted her to work with them for a video on their Victory album. She did.
