Real life circumstances for a woman with a determined spirit, and a child to raise, in the struggle to attain wealth, dignity and respect. Where love is an inconvenient weakness, providing the desired need to hurt, where it helps.

If You like classic movies about England,kings, lords and ladies, this one is for you. First saw it on T.V. about 34 yrs. ago and never forgot it. It's one womans struggle for the man she will always love but can never have, and the lengths she goes to, to try and win his love . The story is great. The clothing and backdrops are beautiful. Just a great movie and am so glad I thought to look on E-bay for it.
