We enjoyed this hilarious movie as well as the bloopers. This movie stars Chevy Chase as Irvin Fletch, a newspaper reporter who solves a drug ring. He has plenty of identities! You'll enjoy the fake names he uses as well as his fantastic acting abilities as these fake characters. Truly a keeper for your personal library!

Fletch - Chevy Chase Uses Disguises to Solve Crimes

Pros:
Funny, entertaining movie.

Cons:
The movie could be too silly for some viewers.

Several years ago I first saw the movie Fletch on television. I really enjoyed it and would watch it whenever I found it on. I picked up the DVD once I found it. I still really enjoy the movie. Irwin M. Fletcher was a reporter that used many disguises to help him get his stories. His column was written under the by line of Jane Doe. Fletch had been working on a story about the drug trade on a local beach when Alan Stanwyk approached him with a strange offer. Alan said he was dying of bone cancer and wanted Fletch to murder him before he got really sick. Alan said he couldn t kill himself...

Pros:
Chevy Chase and funny, funny dialog

Cons:
None really

Fletch is a wonderfully stupid movie that is packed full of laughs. I m a huge fan of Chevy Chase and I think this is probably his second best film (Caddyshack being first). If you are not used to Chase s style of humor then this film is probably not for you. But, if you enjoy his sarcastic and goofy style then you will completely enjoy this film. Most films like this usually are farce type films that don t have a plot or even a point. However, Fletch is a little bit different. There is actually a pretty in depth story that takes a while to develop and surprises you with its complexity. Chevy.

Pros:
Bright, breezy, brisk and a tour de force for Chevy Chase

Cons:
None, unless you are depressingly picky

A genuinely intriguing plot, unusual supporting characters, a handful of hilarious comic set-pieces and a likeably wise-cracking hero are but the icing on the cake for Fletch. Thanks to a dazzlingly sunswept environment, gleaming LA locales and a subtle sense of the absurd, this is a film where almost every single scene is a complete joy. This is one of those classic comedies from the eighties that helped shape our teens; Better Off Dead, Midnight Run, Three O'Clock High, Caddyshack - sadly we shall never see the like again. Ahh, thank God for video. Centre screen throughout, Chevy Chase has..

"Does this entail me dressing up as Little Bo Peep?"

Pros:
Chase is brilliant and the rest of the cast is great

Cons:
terrible sequel would follow

Chevey Chase' film career has been replete with highs and lows. From the highly successful Vacation movies to the barely memorable Caddy Shack II he has been up and down more times than a submarine. The high point of his career was Fletch. Based on the Edgar award winning novel of the same name Fletch was directed by Michael Ritchie (The Candidate). Chase plays the eponymous Fletch (Irwin Maurice Fletcher A.K.A. Jane Doe), a newspaper man who specializes in investigative journalism. Fletch is a master of disguise, and witty Bon mots. While working undercover investigating drug traffic on a...

Chevy Chase plays the title character of Irwin Fletcher, usually referred to Fletch. The movie is based on a book Gregory McDonald, as is the sequel. (I ll get to that in another review.) In Fletch, Fletch starts out working on a story about drugs that turns interesting when police involvement becomes apparent. That gets put on the back burner, though, when a man by the name of Alan Stanwyk wants to be killed. The story he feeds Fletch is that he s dying of bone cancer and wants to be killed now to avoid great pain. Suicide nullifies the insurance, so he has to find some guy to do the dirty...
