this movie is good however I do not enjoy the fact that it does not have a scene selection menu. I have to try to jump to it and watch my dvd player. I find this somewhat troublesome

I had not seen this video before purchasing it. It was okay, but a bit of a disppointment from eastwood. Letters from Iwo Jima was better I thought, even though it was in Japanese.

I had seen the movie once before and love it...soo i looked up the best deal and brought it! I love war movies and this movie and a great story behind it. Its also a movie you could have the whole family watch.

I knew there were two flag raisings on Iwo and all the controversy surrounding them, but didn't know that the bond drive after was needed as much as it was. Eastwood wraps a good story around this moment in history.....

Flags of Our Fathers. including my DadWhat I enjoyed most about this blockbuster movie was seeing my father's image on the screen, as he was depicted running full-tilt boogie, kicking up volcanic ash with his boots, a flamethrower in his right hand, a gasoline tank on his back, a 45 on his right hip, a machete on his left hip, and a canteen on the back of his belt. That was Staff Sgt. L. A. Champagne, ninth regiment, third battalion, 3rd Marine Division, one of 70,000 good men.

Great MovieMy son is an Officer in the US Army. He loves the accurate details of this historical movie. It is definitely a movie for adults or older teens that can handle the action scenes. WONDERFUL movies.

"Flags of Our Fathers" is a superbly directed movie that brings the realities of war and the impact on those who participated to the viewer. It is not the story of a war or a battle but of the individual participants. This perspective provides dramatic insight into the meaning of valor and heroes. The movie creatively uses flashbacks to tell the story of the flag raisers at Iwo Jima. I found reading the book before viewing the movie to be beneficial in following the story line and the characters.

What I disliked the most was that I never received it. I decided to buy it because I find that all of Clit Eastwood's movies are excelent. Unfortunately I have not been able to tell about this one.

Good Movie..... But Nothing New.... It's Like I have seen all of this before in previous war movies.
Except that this is in color...
The storyline, the characters, etc were good, but I did not see any different take on the story.
Hopefully the next movie, Letters from Iwo Jima, as seen from the Japanese side will be a better movie to watch.
Definitely a rental movie for those too young to have seen the previous war movies that have covered this subject before.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS. I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE MOVIE. I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE MOVIE BECAUSE MY FATHER SERVED IN THE MARINE CORP DURING WWII IN THE PACIFIC THEATER. THANK GOD HE WAS NOT AT IWO. MY SON IS CURRENTLY SERVING IN THE MARINE CORP. SO FOR THEM I WANTED TO GET THIS MOVIE. IT'S A WONDERFUL DEPICTION OF THE HYSTORY OF THE FLAG RAISING. THAT PICTURE IS THE ESSENCE OF THE MARINE CORP!

Sempi Fi, Do or dieThis is a great movie. The story flows really well. It is sad to see how mistakes during the picture taking could happen and how more terrible it was at that time during war, but it motivated the nation to support the war and the US eventually won WWII.

Not very Confident About buying items on EBayI paid for a movie I purchased on EBay, by money order as directed by EBay I never recieved the movie, I contacted EBay security with all the information requested I've never heard back from EBay security. Granted the movie did not cost a lot $13.00 dollars, But I Paid for it and never received it or heard anything about this from EBay. As to a good WWII movie, this isn’t all action, gun blazing and men dying. It has another plot also, it shows us how 6 men who raised a flag in time of war, were used to promote the growing problems that exists today. Paying for war, and how the best is was to do that, back in WWII and the mid 1945’s, it was showing off those who were honored heroes. Even if they really wasn’t the true heroes, but one that the Government made that way, but in the end did they treat then as heroes? The movie has a lot of good points, but also has some flaws. I love Clint Eastwood and think he is possible one of our best actors/directors of our time, the cinematography like all Eastwood movies was impressive and unbelievable, making you feel as if you were on Iwo Jimo beaches.
I would recommend this film to all, but beware, it will also leave you pondering things. If this a movie to own or rent?? For was buffs, a movie to own, to others a great rental.
