i love it!i have seen it at cinema and it was very good fun!i bought it for regular dvd as well, but i'd like to watch by digh definitions 1080p.so,i decided to buy it for HD DVD.thanks!
I was expecting a slick, high-tech thriller with this movie but I was very disappointed. Most of my disappointment comes from Harrison Ford's performance - which was very surprising since he's been so good in other movies. If this movie had taken more of a high tech angle with the plot rather than resorting to yet another throw-someone-through-a-breakaway-movie-window fight scene, then I would have given it higher marks. Let's face it: Ford is just too old to be in an action movie like this. I found some scenes laughable as his character huffed and puffed across a rooftop or down a hallway in a half-limp, half-run that had me wanting to help him rest for a minute.... Not exactly edge-of-your-seat material. And to expect that a computer geek business man could be the victor in a fist fight against a professional master criminal half his age..... that was a little too much for me to believe, even if you allow room for some suspension of disbelief to accept hollywood's review of reality. If you want to see this movie, just rent it - don't buy it like I did.
A nice dvd to start a collection of HD DVD'S. Will worth the little extra money for much more detail. It is like filling in all the in-between spaces of a regular dvd.
I bought this on dvd and was a little disappointed. It was a good story about (basically) a bank robbery for $100,000,000. But, instead of an actual heist, it's done by electronic transfer and the internet. Harrison Ford plays Jack, the guy in charge of the computer/account security for a bunch of banks. His family gets kidnapped and he is forced to help the robbers. The movie is OK but nothing special. If you like Harrison Ford, you will probably like this film. But, don't expect the quality or entertainment value you get when Ford played The Fugitive, Indiana Jones, or Han Solo. This movie could of been better. Ocean's Eleven was a better heist movie.
I enjoyed it. It stars Harrison Ford as the main character and As compared to the usual rubbish that comes out it ranks pretty high. I am sure you husband will enjoy it as it is fast paced. Don't forget to put the children to sleep before you put this DVD in, its really not for the kids.

Harrison Ford Tries to Save His Family and Thwart the Bad Guy in Firewall

Pros: Entertaining movie with good cast.
Cons: Not the most original or believable.
Harrison Ford has made many movies during his career that have ended up being very popular. I have seen and enjoyed most of them and tend to see his new movies as soon as I can. I ve been wanting to see Firewall since I first saw the trailer a few months ago. Jack Stanfield had been in charge of security at a bank in Seattle for many years. The bank was in the process of merging with a larger one and Jack wasn t really happy about the merger and didn t like Gary, the man that could be his new boss. Jack and a coworker met with Bill Cox one evening. During the meeting, a group of armed men...

Firewall - at last, a good techno-thriller

Pros: Cast, music, keeps you on the edge of your seat...
Cons: ... a few plot and continuity problems...
I d been waiting for Firewall to come out or some time, partly because ~I haven t seen Harrison Ford in anything for ages, partly because Paul Bettany is one of the best actors around at the moment, and partly to see if someone could finally produce a credible techno-thriller. (Following fiascos such as AntiTrust and Swordfish I was beginning to lose hope for the genre!) In Firewall, Harrison Ford plays Jack Stansfield, head of IT Security at a small bank that s in merger talks with a much larger bank. The larger bank view fraud losses as an unfortunate but inevitable risk, a position which...

Firewall --- Staring Harrison Ford and Paul Bettany

Pros: a nice concept, Mary Lynn Rajskub
Cons: miscast lead roles, some slow parts
Harrison Ford stars in Firewall the latest bank robbing movie with a high-priced film star at its center. Of course there are some twists and turns that make this one slightly different, but the plot really boils down to that premise. Ford plays Jack Stanfield, a security specialist at his bank, who primarily works on defending the system against hackers and crackers who want to take advantage of viruses and such to break into the bank online. It is a pretty cool trade in my opinion, and one which I was a little excited about being seen on screen, but I thought that Ford was a little old for..

I do Believe Harrison Ford Is Spent as An Action Hero

Pros: The data center was cool.
Cons: Far too formulaic; too much product placement; implausible.
I think we all loved (or love) Harrison Ford as the swashbuckling, laser gun tooting space pilot in Star Wars, and the action adventure explorer in the Steven Spielberg s Indiana Jones movies starting with The Raiders of The Lost Ark. Back then mid s through mid s he was young and somewhat handsome, but used looking in all the right places. But, time has not been Mr. Ford s friend; he has aged like we all do, and it really shows on his face. So now he is somewhat less creditable (I m being kind here) as the last action hero even if he is pumped up on testosterone in an effort to save his...

Firewall lacks FIRE
Review created: 02/26/06
by: thecriticman -- a member of Epinions
Pros: Somewhat entertaining and suspenseful
Cons: Dull, bad plot/script, nothing special
Harrison Ford could have made Firewall in his sleep, and at times it feels like he did. Firewall is the most generic of high tech kidnapping thrillers and is not even interesting enough to make it a guilty-pleasure bad movie worth watching. It is very similar to other movies such as "Ransom" and "Hostage". They are all essentially interchangeable, only Ransom and Hostage are much better. Ford growls defiantly at times and the former Hans Solo/Indiana Jones/Jack Ryan can still throw a punch at age 63, but he mostly just looks tired and bored as bank executive Jack Stanfield, whose family is...
