  Following the path of greats
Review created: 07/08/08

I like fire emblem games and have play all of the ones in the north america. This game is no difference it follows in the same great gameplay path as the others plus the visual is stunning for a gamecube game. The story is also great but once you beat the game there is little extra to warrant a repeat. I wish they would have put better thoughts for additional run through of the game but other than that this rare and still expensive game is worth a rental if not a purchase.

This game is very fun. Great for hours of entertainment! It has a great story line. The only thing is that there was not enough levels to complete. I beat this game in 76 hours. Great game!! Highly recommended!!

It has useful information that is nice to have at your fingertips, but like many game strategy guides, they miss little things like a few hidden items. If you prefer a paper guide to one off of the computer, then definitely get it, but you'll have to complete the information on your own off of the internet guides.

Fire Emblem Returns to Consoles with a Bang
Review created: 06/09/08
by:

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the GameCube is a terrific strategy RPG set in the world of Tellius. War erupts across the land when militaristic Daein, led by the Mad King Ashnard, invades the neighboring country of Crimea without warning. What ensues is an epic struggle as Ike and the Greil's Mercenaries fight to help Queen Elincia take the throne.

As previous Fire Emblems before it, this game lets you take control of a variety of different characters and classes. The Weapon Triangle, random statistic growths, and character promotions all return as your team grows stronger with each coming battle. Also introduced is a new skill system, allowing customization of your characters to fit your play style, as well as the forge, where you can create and even name your own weapons. A new race is also introduced, the laguz, a human-like race who transform into fierce animal warriors to fight rather than use weapons.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It's 20+ hours worth of gameplay will give you enough bang for your bug, and tons of extras are also available after you beat the game the first time. Great characters, compelling storyline, and challenging difficulty all come together for a great strategy experience. Also, if you plan on playing the sequel, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, your supports and some statistical gains will carry over. I highly recommend playing both to get the full storyline. 5/5

  5 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review created: 05/16/08

This game was a lot better than I thought it would be. My friends insisted that I buy this game for myself, and I'm glad I listened to them. This game is a keeper. It's great! The storyline is amazing with a wide range of characters. What is interesting about this game is what happens to a character when he or she dies. Once a character is defeated, that character is dead and cannot be used for the rest of the game. So in order to maintain an appropriate army, the player needs to make a good effort to keep as many characters alive as possible. This may be hard sometimes, but it has to be done. Some characters can't die in battle though. If they do, the battle automatically ends and it's game over for you. This is exactly what I love about this game. I actualy had a reason to keep my party members alive in battle. It's about time!

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance provides much fun!
Review created: 05/04/08

As an 11 year old playing in the first decade of the 21st century, I like the complexity of this strategy game. Much (but not all) of it is connected with real people, ideas and places that once were or might have been. One can look up things online, in reference books and learn little bits about what's going on that can help with subtleties of game play.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - Addicting
Review created: 05/03/08

My first experience with this series but certainly will NOT be my last!! The graphics are excellent, the story line is well constructed and the role playing is accurate. There is much more to this than just battles and experience levels. Strategy is a MUST and you have to take the time to speak with characters plus properly outfit your party.

I've been playing RPGs for 20+ years and this one is going to be a classic. I'm anxiously awaiting the chance to get a Wii so I can play the sequel which unfortunately isn't available on the GameCube. That is actually my only complaint; that in order to drive the purchase of new systems, series like this often times have sequels that are not available on the same platform.

Overall a MUST HAVE for any serious RPG gamer!

Mystic Traveler...

One of the better games for the GameCube
Review created: 04/29/08

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is a top notch game in many ways. It has an intriguing storyline, a lot of depth to gameplay, and vibrant graphics. All of these add up to an amazing experience. I think it is the best presented game on the GameCube, the menus, transitions and all that look great. The gameplay is not easy, it's a pretty challening game, which makes it good for a long time.

I needed to move money from my checking account to my PayPal account, which this seller was very patient with. The transaction wasn't completed until after the auction was over. The item was a birthday gift that I needed to be shipped right away. Even with the delayed payment, I still recieved the item on the day we celebrated. Thanks again!

  Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

I have played the two previously released fire emblems for the gameboy advance and i was hoping for an astounding game cube version of the classic fire emblem adventure. I would have to agree with other reviews that i read that state that this game has a very long, uneventful, and drawn out story line. At first i would read all of the captions to get the full effect of the game, then i would read them b/c i was worried that i'd miss some important story line events, and now i just skip through it all. There is just too much pointless dialog. The graphics are decent, although i did hope for better. I was very disappointed in the fighting animation. The animation for the gamecube games was mostly enjoyable, but on this game its just plain annoying. Other than that I have no complaints. Its just another fire emblem game with your turn-base strategy, which i love. The only reason I have problems with this game is because I expected so much more. I'll just have to wait for a more developed game, which i'm sure will come-- its just not "path of radiance."

If you are just addicted to the classic fire emblem game and if youre not getting yourself excited for great graphics and amazing battle animation then you will enjoy this game.

  Great Turn-Based Strategy Game
Review created: 08/03/07
by:

After playing previous Fire Emblem titles I was excited about this first 3-D rendition of the Fire Emblem series. Upon receiving this game I immediately began playing. The turn based system is just like the previous Fire Emblem titles; you move a handful of units around in a square-grid to attack as well as to perform other abilities. The game also features unique classes with class promotions that make each unit/character something different; the game brings the player into a world of sword-fighting and the supernatural element of magic. Aside from the game-play, the game has a very interesting story. The game is also story-intensive with somewhat long dialogues between battles with minimal cinematic cut-scenes. The only con I can think of is the length of the story which, in my opinion, runs quite short. Overall, the game is excellent and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Nintendo should have released more for GC
Review created: 06/19/07

There have been many, many Fire Emblems in the post Nintendo Consoles, but I wonder why they've only released one for Gamecube. This is a great game - PERIOD. I enjoyed every minute of battle and I am very glad that the class changing system finally upgraded(the previous games had to use special seals which can be acquired by bosses, enemies, or chests and can be bought at 10,000 gold); in this game, you can upgrade to the next class right after level 20. The graphics are great and the turn-based-tactics will keep you playing. The only flaws I found are still, the random growth rate, not many chapters, dumb computer AI(too easy at times), and again, the random growth rate. I repeated the random thing because after leveling up, I thought they changed it were the game could actually start having a fixed rate than having it randomly. For example, you if level up, your character might get +1 atk, or some other factors, or sometimes you can even get no additions - bah, it's a waste. And another thing I have to mention is that there are no saving between battles, oh but you can suspend data, although it's not a permanent data because once you save, you can exit and then resume from the battle but when you do and reset the game, you're suspended data gets lost. I thought Nintendo would fix some of these errors found in all of the series, but I supposed it's all tradition. Anyhow, I would have marked this game "Excellent" if Nintendo did what I said, but the game is great, good, and fantastic no doubt.

I played the first Fire Emblem for the Gameboy Advanced, and I am very impressed with the addition of new characters, schemes, and most of all the game being in 3D. The battle system hasen't changed hardly at all. The mapping of the battle scense relative to the position on the main map was very well done, and the characters look amazing. A definate must buy for nintendo and rpg lovers alike.

  I love this game!
Review created: 04/14/07

Compared to other turn based strategy titles, this series still stacks up with the best of them. My favorite of all time tactics game title is Final Fantasy Advance, this game plays in a similar fashion. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality story line of this title. I would also recommend other games in this series.
