Final Fantasy IX (PlayStation)

This installment of Final Fantasy hearkens back to the original idea behind the series: High Fantasy. The story is very well done, the game play is smooth and there are plenty of side quests and mini games that break up the monotony that is found in many RPGs. For those of you who remember the Sierra games and have the complex associated with playing them (Having to pick up everything and save it) this game will continue that derangement as there is plenty of treasure hunting and hoarding to be had. If you are a fan of High Fantasy and like a good, long, in depth RPG, then this is the game for you.

i like how the game was but i did not like how long it took for me to receive my game it took a total amount of 5 days just for 1 game

As a video game collector, my choice of buying this game was originally just for completion of the Final Fantasy series. I had heard the rumors that this game was terrible from so many people, so at first I was a little iffy about buying it. But now that I have it, I can see that those people had know idea what they were talking about!

First of all, I LOVE the fact that Square brought back some old elements, like the steriotypical black mages, the thief (which is the main character, HECK YES!), the white mage, the dragoon, etcetera. Heck, the battle music even sounds exactly like that from the first Final Fantasy. Some people hate this game for those reasons. Why? I guess it's a personal thing.

Second of all, the world you travel in has a multitude of different races, from rat people (Burmecians) to strange asexual chef-like people (The Qu). Honestly, I think this variety of peoples adds to the game, it makes it more like a FANTASY, which is what it is. Why did FFVII get all it's fame? It was basically a model of our own world, but with magic and monsters.(Though I'll admit the characters from that game are so memorable, they're probably the main reason people fan over it so much.)

Lastly, I actually ENJOY the childish appearance of this game. It was basically Square deciding once again to go back to their roots, in which the characters are chibified. They could have easily followed FFVIII's example and made them full-sized humanoids, but instead, decided to make them shorter, stubbier, and cuter. The main character is a chibi thief with a tail. How is that not awesome?

So basically, I enjoy this game very much, for a variety of reasons. Of course, there are things I don't like, but that comes with every game I play. For example, I honestly can't stand the "?" and "!" that appear over the character's head when near some sort of treasure. It provides easier gameplay, sure, but it feels like Square is saying I'm too stupid to see that treasure chest that's lying right there. lol, But I digress, the game is worth playing if you're a fan of the Final Fantasy series or RPGs.

Great game. You start the game as a character planning on kidnapping the princess. Then you suddenly find yourself protecting the princess from being killed by many enemys. That where hired by her own mother. The queen is power hungry and is basicly out to gather all crystals used for summon. And wants to take over the world. In the end you find yourself trying to save the world from doom. There is many spells,summon,weapons and chocobo. A great adventure for any one new to final fantasy or exp. ff gamers. Graphics may not be as good as the new final fantasy games. But you will be happy with the game play, adventure, and story. This is a must game to conquer, if you ever want to be a true final fantasy fan.

This is a great game great graphics for its time and wonderful game controls as well as story line could play this game for hours and not get bored

Bought this game for my son in college (yes, his grades are very good!) and received it very quickly! Unfortunately I mailed it to him without insurance on it, and he didn't receive it.
But thank you for being so quick in sending!!!

The description of the game was accurate, after making the purchase I sent the money order off the same day. It was a little over a month before I received any contact from the seller, this was after several attempts to contact them on my behalf.

After receiving notice that my payment was received and the game had been placed in the mail on the 12th of September, I checked on the date that the money order was cashed to find out that it was actually cashed on the 4th of September. I waited another two weeks for the delivery of the game and again attempted to contact the seller with no response. It is now the 2nd of October and I have not received the item that I purchased on the 12th of August. I have checked the seller's website and left the a message directly to them providing them with my phone number, I did receive a auto reply with the contact name of Chris, but that is the only response that I have received.

A definate CLASSIC.

Final Fantasy IX is an amazing game, and a technological powerhouse for its era. FFIX has an emotionally driving storyline that is pushed further into the reaches of legend by its gorgeously pre-rendered cinematic glory. While the storyline is not quite as epic as Final Fantasy VII, FFIX still is able to tug at the heartstrings of the player through wonderful storytelling design. I would recommend FFIX to anyone who is a fan of the series, a fan of the genre (JRPGs), or a collector of quality video games.

I bought this game from this user because I normally do not like bidding on items but rather buying them directly. I looked through quite a lot of FFIX games being offered and this one had the best BUY NOW pricing. And I received it so quickly! Very happy with my purchase and will certainly do business with this Seller again if the occasion arises. :)

I rented it a while back and then bought it after I had rented it and beat it a couple days later. The game takes you through mind bending worlds and lets you explore into near endless places while still discovering new things!

I purchased Final Fantasy IX for my fiance as a gift. It's an excellent game and goes great with his collection Of Final Fantasy Games. When he recieved it, he was so excited, it's like I had two little boys in my house instead of one. Thanks!

I bought this game called "Final Fantasy IX" used game for cheap. Everything is perfect! no scratch on any of the discs. it's in good condition and everything. it plays very well. i haven't seen any problem about buying this product. If your looking for games that don't sell in stores anymore. this is the best place and its cheaper.

This game is a return to the original fantasy style settings from earlier FF games.And it is executed perfectly, story, visuals and all.

I'm a big role-playing game fan, especally of Final Fantasy games. When FFIX was released, I was hesistant on buying it because it didn't have the same feel for the genre as some of the other games Squaresoft had put out. But, I was wrong to think that they wouldn't come out with another great game. the characters were well done, the storyline is good, but the music is great. it wasn't a 5/5 like FFVII, but nevertheless, it was something that kept me interested and I was excited to see was Playstation was coming out with next.... FFX.

This game is pretty amazing. The battle system is just like the others and the story is so unique in its own way! Once you get a hold of this game you wont want to put the controller down! There is so many things that you can do in the world of FF9! And you wont want to miss a second of it! I recommend this game to ALL FF players who havent YET played this game! And also!!! If you dont own a ps1 or ps2! PS3 can also play ps1 games!! thats in case you didnt know so have fun and enjoy!

A good game for a bargain of a price. Mint condition, looks like new, and a great collectors item if you are into final fantasy games. Especially its a black label, making it even more of a collector's item.
