I bought the CD and other Rush CDs to catch up on all their albums I hadn't kept up through the years. eBay was a great way, at a great price to achieve this!
A GREAT LITTLE COLLECTION OF SONGS FROM THE PAST, TOO NOT SO MUCH SO, ARE COVRED BY THE MEN THAT WERE INFLUENCED BY THE ARTISTS AND THEIR WORKS. ALL VERY GOOD!!!
I was a teenager during the 60's and heard the songs that Rush covers on this album. Rush proves that they still rock and I was impressed with the fact that they only used guitars and drums. Summertime Blues is worth the cost of the cd alone! I'm a long time Rush fan and I was very pleased for them to do a cover album. Rock on guys...
Canada's power trio wormholes back in time to rekindle some solid 60's standards. Being a Rush fan for 3 decades plus I would have bought this sight unseen anyway and was happy I did after first listen. I got it for a good price and the timing was right. "Summertime Blues"(track 1) is one of my favorite all time songs and Rush comes out swinging and nails it. This would be a good album for a person to discover the versatility that this band is famous for. Rock Onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Pros: Sixties classics with a Rush edge. "Heart Full of Soul" a true stand out.
Cons: Only 8 tracks.
It seems that I've began quite a number of my more recent reviews with something along the lines of "Man, it's been a while since I've posted a review." So, as not to break that trend... Man, it's been a while since I've posted a review... But, hey, I've been a little busy working on my own website. Check it out at http://www.cygnus-x1.net. Ahem. Now that that's out of the way, let's get to the review of Feedback. In preparation for their 30th Anniversary World tour, Rush surprised all of their fans by releasing an EP record that saluted their roots. And where you might think Rush would pay...

Rush go down to the crossroads and skin their knees.

Pros: The Seeker and Heart Full Of Soul.
Cons: It's not long enough! Some songs don't work.
When I first heard that Rush were coming out with an EP of nothing but covers and saw what songs they were covering, my first reaction was "Well, this will either be their biggest hit or be their biggest flop ever!". Geddy Lee singing songs by Buffalo Springfield and The Yardbirds? This didn't exactly sound like my idea of a good time! Still, being a HUGE RUSH FAN( I have been since 1977), I was curious as to how it would sound and was willing to give it a chance. Well, after buying this on Tuesday morning( I was the first person to buy this at the CD store I shop at on the Ithaca Commons)and.

Rush: Feedback - An awesome comeback

Pros: Excellent interpretations of classic songs
Cons: I wanted more songs, 8 just isn't enough
Rush took a different path with this release, foregoing their tradition of recording only original music. In celebration of their 30th anniversary, they chose to record songs from the era of their beginning. This was a risky move because fans don t always appreciate hearing their favorite band covering another band s material, especially a whole album of it. And in this case, songs from the 60 s era might not have struck a chord with today s music audience. Well, prepare yourselves, music fans, because this is one collection of covers that will blow your socks off. This mixture of songs...

Rush Gives Some Feedback to Their Influences

Pros: Very close covers featuring Rush's unique sound
Cons: For what it's Worth should NEVER be covered. Paying full price for eight songs
Don t ask me what the point was, because I have no idea. It s really not a point worth pondering anyway. I have to admit, though, that it does cause big fans of Rush like myself to wonder: 30 years of original music and fantastic lyrics, 30 years of being renowned as the love-them-or-hate-them thinking man s rock band, and 30 years of having a strict no-covers policy. What would suddenly cause Rush to abandon all that on a whim and record an entire CD - or more of an extended single, really - comprised entirely of old songs which were NOT written by Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart?...

Something different from Rush

Pros: Good sound quality.
Cons: Geddy's voice seems wrong for some of the songs. Digipack doesn't fit in CD racks
Even though Rush's first single ever was a cover of Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away", this is not a band known for covering other people's songs. None of Rush's 17 other studio albums contain any cover songs, nor are they known to play them in concert. So when they band announced they were putting out this disk just in time for their 30th anniversary tour, it came as a bit of a surprise. As the style of the cover art implies, the songs covered here are generally from the late-60's, which was this band's formative period. So how is it? Unlike their most recent CD, Vapor Trails, the sound is crisp.
