GRAPHICS
Domo 3 may be getting all the accolades for it's graphics right now but nothing is cooler than running abount a series of Island and being able to see the trees swaying in the wind a MILE away. Seriously, how can you ask for more? Booootiful boootiful graphics is all I have to say. When the game first starts you are in a small cramped cave, a la' Doom3, and your first thought it wow great visuals. This is basically the un-avoidable tutorial section. However it is quickly over and next thing you now you are stepping outside. @#$%@$#%@ holy crap!! I found myself rubbing my eyes. There was no way this was a real, it had to be some sort of fake out. Before me was a full fledged real life system of islands, with swaying trees, moving grass, wildlife, ocean water with a tidal effect! Did I say holy crap?? Soon you obtain a set of binoculars, and you think to yourself OK now I can find out how real this really is. Zooming in on an Island in the distance I was thinking to myself "no way they let me actually see this island in the distan....@$#%#@$% there are people on that island and they are moving!!" ...AND the parabolic mic in my Binocs is letting me hear what they are saying. And not a repetitive conversation! Real words, real story line dialogue! Holly crap.

STORY
I don't want to be crass but in this day in age we all should expect more from a game story line than find the $^%$ key! And Far Cry delivers, with a full fledges plot that drives the game play. You start out trying to evade capture from mercenaries on a set of islands, which turn out to be the experimenting grounds of a Dr. Moreau type, creating mutant monstrosities.

Slowly but surely you are pulled into a quest to put a stop to things, however it is all done in away that you are never thinking at any point WHY??

GAMEPLAY
Sniping from a mile away, driving boats, jeeps, flying hang gliders? Playing evade and capture. Stopping the mad rush of a swarm of mutants. Setting up a bomb to play up a radio bunker. All in one game? YES YES YES. Searching for the key to some crappy door just to shoot more baddies.. NOT IN THIS GAME! Nothing is cooler than watching a firefight between the escaped mutants and the Island mercenaries from a mile away, letting kill each other off, before setting up your sniper rifle and picking off the remainders. Of rushing through the mayhem to steal a jeep and escape across and Island while a full out battle rages around you. Strong AI rounds out this game, but enemies responding to noises that you make and using a variety of TACTICS to hunt you down.

All in all with this new price drop if you own a PC for gaming you cannot afford to pass up on this game!

It's a fairly decent game for it's time. It offers some engaging gameplay the first couple times through it. But by the time you beat the game on it's hardest setting (which I'd bet the average FPS player could do on, at most, the second go through) it's lost the majority of it's fun. The graphics are still decent by today's standard, and were at the top of the class when it was released. The AI offers a good challenge, but it's easily predictable to figure them out and set them up for the slaughter. If you've never played the game, I'd say it's worth getting since you can pick up a new copy and have it shipped for under $10. A good way to kill some time. I haven't used any of the online features yet so I can't comment on that. Overall the game feels like it's a step between Counter-Strike and BF2. Good environment graphics but weapon selection and depth of enemies is limited. Final Word: It's a good buy and worth a look, just remember that it isn't cutting edge and you can be happy with it.

Loved this FPS game!Lots of expansive levels and scenery.Good character dialog and versitility.Many cool weapons and realistic action.Difficulty levels to suit anyone.I highly recommend this game for thecasual gamer.

This game is really fun to play. I really enjoy it. It could have better graphics but overall its a game that most people who are into shooter-type games would probably like.

Well this is my 2nd review so im going to put it simple Far cry is an exelent game
if u can get past Sniper eyes of some enemies and its shortness of its outdoor parts and poor driving controls of its vehicle parts fortunely because its a sandbox u can choose not to get into a vicle and drive but well Far cry is a great
buy because u can buy it for cheap just make sure ur pc can handle it

The title says it all.I just bought a new gaming computer GeForce 8800,duel core,tons of memory ETC..and is came with vista 64 bit since a 64 bit system is faster than a 32 bit system.Then I found farcry after playing CYRSIS which is a great game taking advantage of not only the 64 bit system but also directX10.Anyway..I bought FarCry since it was listed on the same site as crysis only to find out that it will not load on a 64 bit system..I says to load the "64 bit set up" when trying to install BUT there is no 64 bit set up on the disk.And all the 64 bit updates,mods and other improvment cant be use if the game wont install..so if you have a NEWER system BEWARE.

THIS IS A GREAT ONE SHOOTER. THIS IS THE GAME THAT CRYSIS WAS CREATED FROM. DETAILED GRAPHICS AND MORE SYSTEM FRIENDLY THAN CRYSIS WITH EQUAL INTENSITY AS CRYSIS. THIS IS ONE OF MY TOP TEN GAMES.

i don't understand why i never play far cry before. it took me 3 straight years until I heard from my brother about it. since I played crysis, the latest game from crytek, ( the makers of far cry too ) I can't understand why far cry have better graphics than the hi tech crysis. far cry is very good, very realistic, the sound is just incredible, and the bush and trees definition are simply amazing. crysis is good but far cry is more. even, crysis is like the copy of far cry if you really check around. I recommended this game to be play with Nvidia 256 mb series 800 or better.

This is the Reason 1st person shooters were created to immerse you in another reality and make you feel like you were there...this is one awesome jaunt throught forest, on land, in the air, or however you choose to travel...Awesome Graphics. beautiful ambient sounds, and Loud gunfire when the battles heat up...This is as good as Doom was when it was released, times 10..

I like to play games of this type.This game is very popular in my country.I decide to buy it because i found it in a very good price.

This is a Great Game!! The Game play is outstanding! Like a journey through a Paradise environment...
I've played it through all the way, the end is somewhat impossible but what the heck, still 98% is great!! enough to be rated excellent.
If you like a Adventure while shooting dozens of enemy's with Stunning Graphics in a Paradise environment your good to go!!!

Great Game ... i bought this Game to keep the kids off my computer.
They love it And play it all the time Mostly just driving the vehicles.

This game is by far the greatest game of it's time! It takes the first person shooter to the next level. You can kill just about anything that moves,(except vehicles) and you can drive any vehicle that you can see! The only problem I had with this game was that you cannot go anywhere you can see, like in Crytek's new game Crysis, but other than that this game is a five star First Person Shooter.

Great Game. Fantastic Graphics. Can be a challenge and fun to boot. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys these type of games.

I bought this game because it was needed for my college game level design class. So far I am very impresseed with it. The CryEngine Sandbox Editor is very cool.

I asked if it worked with Vista before I bought it and I was told it did, it doesn't. Now I have to try and find some way to get it to work.

Actual gameplay is okay, nothing fancy but its like the first half of the game you are battling humans and the second half of the game you are battling monsters, kinda weird but w/e. Graphics are superior on here for when this came out... really good detail from Crytek... overall i give it like a 4/5.

Far Cry - Cheap fun: $10.00 for purchase and shipping. Kept me active for hours. Good plot with tough monster/soldiers. Goes on and on. good graphics. Decent realistic weapons. five levels of play.

First person shooter game that is definitely worth the money.

Since there was only one thing that I did NOT like about this game I will start with the con....No Manual Save! Has built in check-points that if you need to leave the game multiple times or run into a particularly difficult area in the game, this will be frustrating.

There are many pros with this game, but the largest by far falls into one category: phenomenal graphics. The story line is like all other fps, over the top, as is the funny little voices the characters have--will make you giggle. And the sound effects are really good, such as walking through the jungle and hearing mosquitoes buzzing and birds chirping.

Havn't played the multiplayer, but for some alone time, Far Cry is really worth a try.

Although this title is several years old now, the graphics, storyline and gameplay are excellent. This is a game you can play many times and still enjoy it.

The graphics are stunning, and surprisingly don't require a high end machine to play well.

Every gamer should have a copy in their library.
