My daught has a T.V. that has the VHS connected to it. It's now hard to find VHS tapes that she likes. We have Fantasia & my mother-n-law said that Fantasia 2000 is better than the first one. I bought it for her & she loves it. It finishes the 2 collection.
My 3 yr old loves this and I don't mind watching along...over and over and over. She is being exposed to history, music and the magic of animation. I will also buy the DVD to view a higher quality image.
This is a good Disney movie for any collector. I am collecting the movies for my grandchildren. This one has classical music combined with a fast paced, colorful cartoon. I like the exposure to classical music. The grandchildren like the fast pace. This keeps the attention of toddlers.
I've always loved this movie and my children love it to. My daughter only has a VCR in her room no DVD player, so this VHS movie was the perfect fit for our family!
The seller was kind and took care of the shipping right away. It was shipped out the day I paid for it! Now that's service.
i bought this tape because i always enjoyed the original fantasia. this one did not disappoint me. when i want something different i play one of these. it probably helps that i saw the original when it first came out.

Fantasia 2000: You'll Believe Whales Can Fly

Pros: Head-explodingly good, this movie shoved me back in my seat and kept me there
Cons: The cameos by overpaid celebrities are condescending and utterly unnecessary
A warning to unsuspecting viewers: the contents of Fantasia 2000 could cause your head to explode. Walt Disney s original vision of a movie experience which blends cartoon with classic music has found perfect expression in this animation for the new millennium. Hitting theaters (and now VHS and DVD) 60 years after the original Fantasia failed to wow audiences or critics, there is only one word to describe Fantasia 2000: wow. Make that WOW! Nine years in the making, the 75-minute animated feature does in that short space of time what many live-action movies, bloated to two hours and beyond,...

Pros: interesting animation and still a great concept to match it to music
Cons: lacks complexity and beauty of original Fantasia, irritating celebrity cameos
It's been a while since I've viewed the original Fantasia, but many of the scenes still come to mind when I hear the music: Fairies tracing delicate patterns across a frozen pond, delightfully plump cherubs attending to a herd of curvaceous lady centaurs, dancing mushrooms, and the spirits of the dead whirling around a (literally) demonic mountain. When Fantasia 2000 came out, I thought it was a great idea. The application of fine animation to fine music, updated with newer pieces and new ideas, I thought. Surely Disney could improve upon the original and make an equally if not more...

A Sequel to a Masterpiece? an Epinion from a non-Disney fan

Pros: Perfect music, some jaw-dropping animation
Cons: Weak moments (a matter of taste), and it could have been longer.
When I was a pup, the only music in the house was classical music. My father had (still has, actually) nearly 1,000 albums (LPs and CDs), and his love for classical music has rubbed off on us. We all love classical music now, and I'm grateful for the years of unwilling culture he forced down our throats. Fantasia and Snow White were the only two Disney movies he ever liked, and as a result we'd see them every time they came to the theatres. When I heard about Fantasia 2000, I was skeptical....could they successfully replace segments from the original with new material? Would the animators of..

A Classical Fantasy According To Disney

Pros: Wonderful animated sequences
Cons: Some themes of 1940 classic repeated
Sixty years ago, Walt Disney created a beautiful marriage of classical music and animation with "Fantasia." Animated sequences were paired with the works of great composers to create flights of fancy and humor. Sometimes, they told stories, and sometimes they were just creative vignettes. Disney animation has always been synonymous with superlative beauty, so it was only natural for Disney animators to combine the beauty of their art with the beautiful art of classical music. "Fantasia 2000" is a welcome return to that territory. Memories of the 1940 effort are evoked throughout the film. In..
