Family Guy takes place in a twisted suburban landscape that bears a superficial resemblance to the world of The Simpsons, but quickly establishes its own distinctive tone and style, distinguishing itself of all dysfunctional animated families. Family Guy triumphant return to network television picks up where the show's first run left off, mining humor from a mixture of timely social satire, slapstick, and the outright bizarre. The father Peter; his sweet but oblivious wife Lois; and their teenagers, dimwitted Chris and awkward Meg and who can forget evil Stewie and Brian this DVD will keep you laughing and want to watch more and think about what will they come up with next
this was a good volume of family it had great humor and i really enjoyed it. it fits in great in my collection. i believe anyone with a sense of humor would like this set!
Thanks for the prompt shipping, the package arrived 4 days early! The case wasn't perfect, but the discs were so no worries mate! I would buy from this seller again without hesistation.
I HAVE LOVED THIS SHOW SINCE ITS INCEPTION. To actually have it on disc in home for such a fair price makes it all worth while. I was given Volumes I,II, & V for Christmas and I oredered Voll III & IV thru EBAY to have the complete collection.
I bought this for my 29 year old son. I personally don't watch this program don't care for it but, I can hear my son laughing all the time he watches this program.
Family Guy isn't for everyone all the time, but if you watch it everyone sooner or later will find something off the wall hilarious about it. I hate to miss an episode!
One of my favorite episodes is on Season Three, titled Model Misbehaviour. This set is made up of three discs full of episodes that are bound to make you laugh. It is definitely worth it if you can find it for a good price. :)
Great TV show. Definently for adults... this copy is not rated so it shows obseen things that small children would be scaring for life... or damn near it. Its an ADULT DVD.
This was a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas. For his birthday I had bought him Volumes 1 and 2, so it just made perfect sense to continue. I ended up buying 3, 4, and 5 for him this Christmas!! He thinks I'm the best girlfriend ever! Thanks for making that possible.
"To be honest, the first few episodes don't live up to the previous three seasons. While they're funny, the jokes are often predictable and, worse, there is way too much self-referencing. The first episode, "North by North Quahog" is almost frustrating in its pure adherence to repeating old jokes. The greased-up deaf guy bit was funny maybe once - but there are definitely diminishing returns when he's mentioned every other episode. Another example is the long fight with the chicken in "Blind Ambition;" it was funny once before but borderline tiring here. While some fans might enjoy the returning jokes and self-referencing characters, it really comes off as a lazy way to get a rise out of viewers. The show isn't ruined by lazy humor - the Star Wars ending of one of the early episodes remains one of my favorite jokes in the series - but this set doesn't really get back up to speed until around the fourth episode, when Meg becomes good-looking. At that point, we get some amazingly creative humor. It's almost like MacFarlane and gang decided they had thanked their fans enough and could return to what made the show successful in the first place.
The humor remains deliciously offensive, such as a hilarious discussion between Cleveland and Joe in which they place racial symbolism to the sport of bowling. The show retains its wonderfully tasteless references and great non-sequitor asides that originally made the show stand out. Furthermore, the fourth season seems to have had a larger budget, which provided for more diverse episodes that allowed the show's creators to have multiple scenes and complexly animated sequences.
Something to also consider is that Family Guy: Volume 3 has only about two-thirds of the fourth season. While this is somewhat understandable - the run of the fourth season was shown in two halves - it still makes this set feel the most incomplete of any Family Guy release so far. This set runs at a measly 292 minutes. That's 200 less minutes of show than Volume 2's 495 minutes and nearly half of Volume 1's 624. Fox seemed to care more about pushing this set out the door in time for the holiday season over waiting for a more complete collection of the fourth season's episodes.
But by no means is Family Guy: Volume 3 a rip-off. Even if they're not all gems, the majority of the episodes here are classic. And fans will be pleased to know that many of the jokes which were cut from television broadcast are restored here. Add in the best special features of any Family Guy release yet and you've got a set well-worth owning for fans. " ign.com
I have watched all of the discs without any problems. checked the price for this item at the local store and it was 28.00 so i got a very good deal. Thanks very much
So far I have been very pleased with everyone I have purchase, since I've been a buyer. Everyone has sent out my shipment in record time for me to receive my items I have purchased. Very kind people that I have worked with..I have been telling my family and friends about it, to get them to buy the same way. Thank you to every one who have been a great help. Rebecca
They're back! After a lengthy hiatus, Family Guy suceeds with another comedic home run! Not as groundbreaking as the first 2 volumes, but still very funny. The question is, will this show start to become stale soon? If you've never seen this show, you will find yourself laughing so hard and so often, that you will often miss out on the next joke, which is why I ended up watching a lot of these episodes multiple times. How this show went relatively unnoticed by many until it's eventual DVD release, I'll never know. Leave it to Fox to put on a show this funny in the most ridiculous and inconvenient time slot.
Family Guy is one of my favorite shows. I liked the fact that this purchase contained all of the episodes from the season I wanted. I have all of the previous seasons except this one. I could not find it at the video stores, and decided to give ebay a try. I found exactly what I was looking for. Everything was in great condition and each DVD from this volume played perfectly. I would highly recommend buying DVD's or movies off ebay, I know I will.
I love the humor and how smart it is. Even though it usually has nothing to do with the story line, the humor is still funny. The characters are great and i love everything about the show...except the extended musical numbers. Some of them are good though.
I thought I had paid for the dvd, but was not receiving it. I contacted the seller to see if he received payment and come to find out, paypal was having trouble with my order. I needed the dvd in time to give as a gift. This seller told me he would make sure it would arrive in time. Payment was received on a Thursday afternoon and I had the gift Saturday morning-- just in time! THANKS!!
