Eragon by Christopher Paolini (2003)

I normally do not sit down and read books, as I am not an avid reader, but WOW. I read this book from start to finish in just a few days and I simply loved every minute of it. It is one of the best Fantasy/Adventure books I have ever read. I am now reading the sequel Eldest. Overall I'd recommend it to anybody age 13 and older. A great read, from a very talented young author.

I really liked/enjoyed the book. However it was long and I dozed off a lot and took a full 2 weeks to finish it when it only took 3 days for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows or similar length books. I started to doze off when it kept talking about traveling, I guess I just like the parts with action.

My grandson is a first grader, and he is reading this book for the summer. He is only reading six or seven pages a day, but he is at least still interested in reading enough to keep it up. He did not at first understand all the phrases or words but he has had his interest peeked to the point where he looks up the meanings.
He ask me for this book and he is prooving to me he likes it so I am going to purchase the next book Eldest for him as soon as he finishes this one. It is very interesting, I plan to read it as soon as he is finished.

It is one of my favorite books and I chose it because the price was right and hardbacks are sturdier than paperbacks. The book was in excellant shape when it arrived.

I actually stumbled on Eragon shortly before the second one came out I got it as an autio and Lisin to it with my little sister will traveling and working. It was a great hit with us so my mother bought the second book for me and I really won't to own the first one as well.

Okay, I was thinking at first that I'm just not into dragons or fantasy stuff, so I'd hate this book. But I was BLOWN away! For a 15 year old author (at the time he wrote this), I could not be more impressed.

I read EVERY single word of this book V E R Y S L O W L Y so that it would last longer. Usually I finsih a book in a few hours. I wanted this one to last and last.

i bought it for my brother because i know he's into that kind of book and he says he's liking so far but at the same time he's comparing it to the movie.

I needed a hardcover copy for my set. I really enjoyted the first book. So I bought it in hardcover. I read the second and decided I woul;d get all the books in hardcover when available. This book was at an excellent price and I liked the convenience of using ebay and paypal.

This is a book, a very good book, it has only one problem though, the plot is exactly like that of Starwars, EVERYTHING. I still recommend it, but don't expect a whole lot.

An absolute must have. The wording is so realistic is unreal. I didnt have any problems picturing this book. The story line is great. The book gets started right away. I read it in 3 days. I recommend this to anyone that loves the mystical beyond.

This book is the start of one of the best tails ever. The adventures will keep you reading until the last page. You will fall in love with all the characters. I didn't want to stop there so I went out and got the 2nd book the same day.

I bought this book for the little bro and he loves it. I read it when I was in highschool and I liked it, I just haven't had time to read the second one as I am now in college. One day maybe he'll buy me the second one to read. lol.

Talk about good usage of adjetives! This extremley young HOMESCHOOLED author kept my emotions in his grip through out the entire story, not to mention my entire family. His vivid descriptions and attention to detail makes this a pretty amazing story to read aloud and share with the entrie family. Their is a very similar story line to a belove movie saga, Star Wars. This series will hold its own through the years!Its so very real, you feel what the charachters feel. Get ready for a dragon studded adventure!

There is not one slow, boring page in the entire book! Every word, every paragraph just flows into the next wrapping you in the tale and sweeping you right along with it. So much better then the movie could ever hope to be because of all the wonderful details only the imagination bring forth. I can not wait to start reading Eldest to see what happens next!

I saw the movie first and as usual they did not do the book justice! Talk about rewriting and leaving out alot of the book! If you truely want to know Eragon READ the book! Paolini does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life with his discriptions and he way he writes. A great read for anyone who's a fan of Magick and fantasy. If you like the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings series you will definately like this book!

My 9yo son and I both read this book and loved it. We were both further fascinated by the fact that the author wrote it while a teenager. Fantastic adventure and coming of age story. Who would not want to have their own dragon?
