Three songs that show the shift in focus in Sting's solo career

When Sting left the Police to pursue a solo career, he set out to distance himself from the mix of reggae, punk, and rock he had done with his former band. "Englishman In New York" is one song that marks Sting's departures from his musical past. This song was the second single from Sting's second solo album, ...Nothing Like The Sun. The first, "We'll Be Together," was a soul-tinged Top 10 hit. The second single has a strong feel of mellow jazz.
