) In my opinion, this is a great book!!! We read this story for an 'Antarctica' Unit Study years ago, and it is an incredible biographical/memoir story about a group of men (28) who persevered and in their struggle to return to civilization after having their ship become crushed in the Antarctic ice and being forced to abandon ship to the ice of the Weddell Sea... on foot. 1915. No thinsulate. No modern equipment. People thought no one could survive a winter in Antarctica. Miraculously, all 28 men survived! I highly recommend it!!!
