Emmanuel's Gift (2006, DVD)

I bought this DVD at a local fair without any previous input at all, only as an impulse buy. It was the best value for the money in my entire life, and I'm not kidding. It is a simple but profound story about the value of love, dreams, and the capacity of humans to bring themselves to greatness if they can just keep themselves from being distracted. The story has several surprise twists, so don't assume you can tell what is going on by the cover; but the true-to-life cast of characters therein are as fine a group of people as you will ever see, and there are documented events of such moving beauty and surpassing achievement, that those alone are worth both seeing and sharing this DVD. Watch this with someone you love, someone who you want to have a better and richer understanding of the truer and broader meaning of words like Heroism, Pride, Understanding, and especially Strength. Do not miss it, own it; and earn the right to share it. You will never regret it.

All I can say if you have kids & even if not you should watch this movie & learn to appreciate the life we are given by God. Emmanuel has & it is beautifully portraied in this film. Not only is it a tribute to the spirit of this one man but of others like him. One of the most powerful films I have ever seen period.
