After seeing a high school musical production of "Aida", I was excited to purchase the Original Broadway Cast version of "Aida". The songs of this musical tell a powerful story with moving instrumentation and lyrics. Elton John and Tim Rice created a musical gem in "Aida". If you like meaningful musicals, you will not be disappointed in this sountrack CD!
I saw AIDA teice on Broadway and I fell in love with it. At first it seems kind of weird but it is actually really good. Elton John and Tim Rice did a wonderful job with this musical. The music is hopeful and exciting. After listening to it you'll find yourself singing along.Includes a wonderful cast.

Rocking Operas?

Pros: singers, story, love songs
Cons: transitions, some songs
I recently decided to get this soundtrack as another addition to my broadway library. Always liking stage musicals, this soundtrack gives another type of taste to opera. More like being in an Elton John concert, this CD didn't have all the meaning that I really was hoping for in a musical CD of this caliber. After winning a nice handful of Tony's and recognition, I was quite surprised that the music was mostly of the same format and same level. Most songs from musicals that I hear from have a nice building in the melody. An introduction climbing to the climax. The thing I dislike about the...

A theater cd even non-theater geeks will enjoy

Pros: Excellent performances
Cons: Some cheesy lyrics, trite emotional tugs
I have already written an Epinion on Aida the musical. I loved it. However, my goal in writing this review is to encourage people to buy it even if they haven't seen the show, or even if they don't particularly enjoy musical theater. This cd, with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Elton John, is packed with catchy and/or emotion-filled tunes that stand by themselves just fine. Some of my favorites: Every Story Is a Love Story This is the opening number of the show, wherein Amneris (Sherie-Rene Scott) sets the scene for the story about to unfold. In a word, it is haunting. Scott's voice is so...

Aida- Broadway Cast

Pros: Heather Headley, songs present a lot of emotion
Cons: It ends too quickly!
This album is surprising fantastic! The first thing that made me want to go out and buy the album was that I had the concept album, which I thought was pretty good but I figured that maybe the Broadway cast would be better, the second was that I hate heard the popular radio commercial which features quick song highlight from the show which sound incredible, and the last thing that made me buy this was that it won enough Tony Awards to win me over. For those who have the concept album which features Elton John, LeAnn Rimes, Spice Girls Tina Turner, etc..., then you should undoubtedly love this.

Triumphant Broadway Soundtrack

Pros: Splendid orchestrations and illustrious vocations
Cons: non come to mind.
There are many aspects to this album that make it quite unique and invigorating compared to other classic musicals. Derived from the opera "Aida" this modern twist on the timeless love triangle story incorporates soul, pop, rock, and african influences to make a spectacle for the ears. The orchestrations (put together by Elton John) are completely phenomenal, and never lose the "Eltonish" (if you will) piano base rock rhythms during the fast paced/upbeat songs. Fast drum rhythms bring in the vivacious african influence to adrenaline rushing emotions when heard. The soulful ballads have tempos.

Pros: I never heard such beautiful music!
Cons: No Comment
As I was sitting in my nose bleed seats in the New York City theater of "Aida," I felt very mad. I had a right to, sort of. First of all, it was a Friday so the teachers felt like they had the need to give the largest amount of Homework possible. Then I slowly started accepting that the pants I was wearing were way to tight on me, and if wasn't bad enough, I almost fell in a puddle completely so my pants which were way to tight on me, were tighter than ever because of the nasty puddle water. Oh boy. Now, I am sitting in these seats that it looks like if I were to bend over, people would think.
