Elton 60: Live At Madison Square Garden (2007, DVD)

I bought this DVD because when I first saw the concert on my computer as it was being recorded Live on MSN.com, I couldn't believe how fantastic the entire production was...Elton was absolutely amazing, as usual; and his energy and musical ability are flawless, the fact that this man can still create such an incredible reaction from his fans at the concert after so many years of performing is truly amazing but not hard to believe. The man is a musical genius and always will be one of the greatest performers of our time. In my opinion he, as an artist and also as a great humanitarian is a National Treasure, One of the last great performers of our time - the likes of which we will never see again once he has passed from this earth. I cannot believe that he put on a 3 + hour show and played some of my favorite early songs such as "High Flying Bird" "Ballad of a Well Known Gun", "Hercules", etc..these were favorites of mine as well as early Elton fans of the 70's and I think we all enjoyed listening and reminiscing over these tunes as well as the current setlist that he normally performs. The band was also excellent and high energy. I enjoyed the Cellist as well; I thought he added so much to the production numbers that he performed in. The choir was good, however, I like just listening to the band with Elton and sometimes when he performs with an Orchestra; but I don't care too much for the choir for some reason. All in all I bought this DVD mainly because I am Elton John fan and collector and I wanted to have a little piece of history to call my own being his 60th Birthday celebration and also the fact that he had played Madison Square Garden for the 60th time which was a milestone event in itself; and also it included a separate DVD of Elton's TV performances that were extremely rare; some never before seen footage of him that is so priceless to any Elton John fan to have in their collection. This was icing on the cake for me. Thank you for this wonderful DVD collection set of him; I will cherish it forever. - Kerri Standing
